Pokemon GO March 2024 Calendar - All Events This Month

The first month of the World of Wonders season is a busy one.

March marks the start of Pokemon GO's World of Wonders season, where players will spend the next several months investigating strange occurrences and discovering even more secrets regarding strange Pokemon. A season-long Special Reseach story begins with the start of March, involving players meeting the mysterious Ultra Beast Poipole and discovering why it has made its way into our world.

Yet outside of this new story, nearly every week of March will feature new events, spawns, and bonuses for players to enjoy—oftentimes featuring Pokemon that have not been seen in some time, and those that are not likely to return in the near future. Though finding all of these Pokemon will require a bit of dedication, those that take hold of the opportunities this March can enjoy a handful of new, rare Pokemon in their collections.

Here is the current calendar for Pokemon GO in March 2024, complete with the events that will take place, as well as Pokemon featured in Raids and Spotlight Hours.

All events in Pokemon GO - March 2024

March begins with the Charged-Up Research Day on March 3, highlighting the energy of Electric Type Pokemon like Blitzle and Helioptile. It will be followed by the Pokemon Horizons: The Series celebration event from March 5 to March 11 that commemorates the global release of the anime. This event will feature the Pokemon GO debut of Charcadet, Ceruledge, and Armarouge, as well as the addition of Pikachu in Cap's Hat that can learn the exclusive move Volt Tackle.

Weather Week will be returning from March 14 to March 18, with March's Community Day taking place in the center on March 16. It has not yet been confirmed what Pokemon will be featured during Community Day.

Two Raid Days will be held this month, one on March 17 and the other on March 23, each featuring the Legendary Pokemon Kyogre and Groudon, respectively. However, players will have to face these powerful foes in their Primal states, which first debuted in the mobile title during last year's Pokemon GO Tour: Hoenn and have been seldom available since. Defeating them will not only reward players to catch Kyogre or Groudon, but also give them Primal Energy that can be used for Primal Reversion, allowing these Legendary Pokemon to take their alternate forms.

The Mythical Pokemon Zarude resembles a large monkey with vines wrapped around its wrists.

The Verdant Wonders event from March 21 to March 25 marks the return of the Mythical Pokemon Zarude to Pokemon GO, though will be locked behind paid ticketed research that will likely be purchasable from the in-game store. A curious event known as World of Wonders: Taken Over will follow shortly thereafter from March 27 to March 31, likely being a continuation to the season's ongoing Special Research story.

To cap off a busy month, Shadow Mewtwo will be available once more for players to defeat and catch in Pokemon GO from March 30 to March 31, though it is currently unclear if it will be through Team Go Rocket or limited Shadow Raids.

Pokemon GO Raids, Raid Hours, and Spotlight Hours - March 2024

Pokemon GO is placing a big emphasis on Alolan Legendaries for March's five-star Raids. Throughout the month, these Raids will feature Tapu Koko and Tapu Lele, as well as Regice, all of which have the chance to appear Shiny. Tapu Koko and Tapu Lele, Legendary Pokemon that act as guardians in the Alola region, will also have access to their signature move Nature's Madness when captured in Raids, only being accessible through Elite Charged TMs after March ends.

Mega Raids will rotate with two-week periods starting with Mega Sceptile, moving to Mega Tyranitar then Mega Venusaur. As of now, Niantic has not indicated that any new Mega Evolutions will be added to Pokemon GO during the month of March. Those looking to best Team Go Rocket's schemes can look forward to Shadow Raikou in five-star Shadow Raids every weekend in March as well.

Raid Hours are held every Wednesday from 6pm to 7pm local time, during which all Raids in Gyms will hold a featured Pokemon for that day. On March 6 and March 13, this will be Tapu Koko. March 20 will mark the return of Regice, while March 27 will give players the chance to defeat and capture Tapu Lele.

Spotlight Hours are making their return every Tuesday evening from 6pm to 7pm local time, not only offering increased spawns of specific Pokemon, but providing players with a bonus during that duration as well. On March 5, players can find Pawmi more often while enjoying double evolution XP. March 12's Spotlight Hour features Nidoran♀ and double catch Stardust, followed by Hoppip and double catch Candy two weeks later on March 26. Interestingly, March 19's Spotlight Hour will focus on a number of different Pokemon—Vulpix, Poliwag, Snorunt, and Hippopotas—while giving players double catch experience. Though many of these overlap with events, Spotlight Hour spawns take precedence.
