The next horrifying installment of the Resident Evil series has finally arrived. Continuing the story of Ethan Winters following the events of Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village sees our titular hero venture into a mysterious eastern European town to save his kidnapped baby. Throughout your journey, Ethan will encounter all sorts of horrific monsters, eccentric characters, puzzles, and familiar faces. Pulling inspiration from previous entries, Resident Evil Village mixes both horror and action. If you’re looking to fully upgrade Ethan you’ll need to hunt down the rare animals to obtain Quality Meat, Finest Fish, and Juicy Game.
Rare Animal Locations
Juicy Game
Juicy Game is the first rare animal you are able to hunt down and it will be available to hunt down. After completing the castle you will come across a photo of a bright blue bird in a tree. This bird is actually located in the graveyard in the middle of the village. Once you arrive in the village, make your way to the graveyard and go to the spot shown above. It should be in the large tree to the left of the above-ground crypt. You will see it sitting in a tree, so shoot it off the branch to kill it so you can harvest the Juicy Game.
Quality Meat
The next animal is a white pig which is located by the small house you initially found the woman with her wounded dad. Head up to this area through the field of hay and scarecrow, but be cautious as there are flying monsters around. Kill the ones you see with the sniper rifle and then make your way through the field to make the one that’s hiding attack you. Once they’re all dead, go to the small house to the right of Luiza’s home and head towards the well. You’ll see the pig roaming around in the back.
Finest Fish
The final rare animal isn’t accessible until you defeat Moreau and obtain the crank for Mechanical Doors. Once you return to the village, go to where the Duke is and head towards the Ceremony Site. You will eventually cross a bridge where there previously were a few lycans lying about. Head down the stairs to your left, slot the crank into the hole, and lower the draw bridge. Now get into the boat and head south until you reach another dock. You will find a small pond to your left with a few fish in it. The big yellow one will produce Finest Fish when killed.
Additionally, you’ll also want to go into the cave behind you to receive the foregrip attachment for the W870 TAC shotgun. Just be prepared to fight a few zombies on your way out! Now that you have these ingredients, you can craft some of the best meals in the Duke’s Kitchen. If you don’t have enough meat, you can always save them and make any meals you’re missing in New Game Plus. Anything in your inventory or food put into a meal in the Duke’s Kitchen will carry over.
