Resident Evil Village Luthier Key Guide - Key Location & Lock Code

The next horrifying installment of the Resident Evil series has finally arrived. Continuing the story of Ethan Winters following the events of Resident Evil 7Resident Evil Village sees our titular hero venture into a mysterious eastern European town to save his kidnapped baby. Throughout your journey, Ethan will encounter all sorts of horrific monsters, eccentric characters, puzzles, and familiar faces. Pulling inspiration from previous entries, Resident Evil Village mixes both horror and action. Just like other installments, there are a lot of keys you will need to find to uncover all of this game’s secrets. One that’s missable is Luthier’s Key, which is first mentioned on a note outside of the man’s home.

Here’s where to get the key and how to open the lock inside:

Luthier Key Location

You will only be able to access Luthier’s house key after you defeat Angie and Donna at the estate. This duo makes up the second major chunk of Resident Evil Village and will take around 1-2 hours to complete depending on your puzzle-solving skills. Once these two have been vanquished, make your way back through the misty woods until you reach the large gravesite. Keep going until you reach the house that is absolutely swarming with zombies. I recommend using pipe bombs and mines to clear out the swarm. However, make sure to grab the W870 TAC shotgun inside this home. It’s an objectively better version than your better than the base shotgun so you won’t want to miss it.

Once they are all dispatched, cross over the main path and head up to the house on the small hill (shown above). You will find Luthier’s Key in the house and a piece of treasure in the well. If you don’t have the Well Wheel, this is obtained inside a small shack by an Iron Isignia door in the village. There won’t be any enemies up here, so don’t worry about being jumped during your looting.

Luthier Lock Code

Once you have Luthier’s Key, make your way back to his house in the village. It should be the large building just above the words “West Old Town” on your map with a treasure chest symbol. When you arrive, use the key to open up the musician’s home. Inside you’ll find some supplies and a dresser locked with a 6 digit numerical code. A small scrap of paper will hint that the code is his child’s birthday. On the wall, you’ll see a poster made which shows the date of her birthday. Approach the dresser and input the code 27-09-17 to unlock this container.

Inside, you’ll find a stone eagle statue that sells for 25,000 Lei and a briefcase holding a High Capacity Magazine for your sniper rifle. Both of these are terrific items and definitely worth the extra effort. The magazine will increase your rounds from 4 to 9, letting you deal more damage before you need to reload. Plus, if you still need a briefcase upgrade, the statue will almost pay for the entire thing by itself.
