Arguably one of the longest Relic Weapon grinds to date, the Resistance Weapons from Final Fantasy XIV’s Shadowbringers present some of the subjectively best-looking weapons and one of the most time intensive weapon grinds in the game to date.
The Law’s Order weapon is the fourth step in this grind. This guide will make sure to take you through everything you need to know in order to complete these weapons as efficiently as possible.

Prerequisites
Since this step is in the middle of the chain of Resistance Weapons, there are some prerequisites that need to be completed to get here. These only need to be completed once and are as follows:
Reach level 80 on the Disciple of War or Magic job you wish to get the weapon for.
Complete the previous steps to get the Recollection version of your weapon.
After you’ve done all of the prerequisites now it’s time for the actual grind. To begin, you have to talk to Zlatan and get the quest “ Change of Arms”. After you’ve spoken with him and initiated the quest the actual grind begins. For this step of the Relic you need to collect 15 Loathsome Memories of the Dying, which can be obtained through doing various Duties outlined below:
Duty
Reward
Crystal Tower Alliance Raids
1 Loathsome Memory of the Dying
Castrum Lacus Litore
5 Loathsome Memories of the Dying
Critical Engagements in The Bozjan Southern Front
Up to 1 Loathsome Memory of the Dying (these are not guaranteed)
Duty
Reward
Crystal Tower Alliance Raids
1 Loathsome Memory of the Dying
Castrum Lacus Litore
5 Loathsome Memories of the Dying
Critical Engagements in The Bozjan Southern Front
Up to 1 Loathsome Memory of the Dying (these are not guaranteed)
The Method
As you can see from the table, Castrum Lacus Litore is technically the most efficient way to grind Loathsome Memories of the Dying, based on raw numbers awarded per Duty. However, it’s very rare to see this Critical Engagement spawn and even more rare to fill a party for it outside of going in with a dedicated group. As such, you’re better off doing 15 of the Crystal Tower Alliance Raids.

Tips and Multitasking
You don’t need to have the weapon equipped to do the farm, nor do you even have to queue for the job you’re farming for. If you have a healer or tank leveled you can queue up as one of those and fast track queue pops for your Alliance Raids.
You can also simultaneously farm a few of the steps for the Zodiac weapons released during A Realm Reborn. While this doesn’t necessarily make the grind of doing 15 of the same Alliance Raid any less tedious, it at least allows you to cut down the number of times you need to do it for other Relics. Make sure to have the required quest for the Relic you’re working on active as well.

If, however, you decide to farm Critical Engagements in the Bozjan Southern Front, you can still multitask to make the best use of your time. Since you don’t have to be the same job as the one you are grinding the weapon for, you can instead switch to one that needs leveling and do any of your Critical Engagements as that job. This also allows you to multitask on grinding for an Augmented Resistance weapon for a different job. As long as you have the Resistance weapon you want to upgrade in your inventory, and the necessary quest active, you can simultaneously farm for Tortured Memories of the Dying by completing Critical Engagements in the Bozjan Southern Front.
