FFXIV Relic Weapon Guide: Augmented Law's Order

The worst is yet to come.

With your Law's Order weapon in hand, you've overcome quite a bit of the Relic Weapon grind so far, but you're not quite finished yet. This guide will go over how to upgrade your Law's Order weapon to create an Augmented Law's Order weapon, the fourth upgrade within the process of creating the Resistance Relic Weapons introduced during the Shadowbringers expansion of Final Fantasy XIV

Check out our main guide for the Resistance Relic Weapons for help with the entire process.

Upgrading Your Relic to Augmented Law's Order

As always, make sure you have your weapon with you and are on the required job when you go to accept your quests.

Your first stop is to pick up the quest The Resistance Remembers from Gerolt in Gangos (X: 6.2, Y: 5.0), who will ask you to gather the 18 Haunting and Vexatious Memories of the Dying. With the required memories in your inventory and your weapon unequipped, head to the Allagan Node in Gangos (X: 5.9, Y: 4.8).

The second quest you need to complete is A New Path of Resistance. You'll pick this up from Zlatan (X: 6.1, Y:4.9) in the same zone. Zlatan asks you for 15 Timeworn Artifacts. Once you have your artifacts in hand and your weapon once again unequipped, you can turn in this quest at the Allagan Node.

You must allocate stat points to your brand-new weapon when turning in this quest. Since these are no longer Best-in-Slot weapons, it doesn't matter where you put these points, but it isn't a step you can skip. Once you have selected your desired stats, you can complete the quest and receive your Augmented Law's Order weapon. The roughest part is behind you, and your Resistance Relic Weapon is almost complete.

How to get Haunting and Vexatious Memories of the Dying

Like in the previous steps, you'll need the first quest — "A New Path of Resistance" — to be active to get the required memories. You'll only have to complete this quest once per character, not once per job.

The Resistance Remembers has you collecting even more memories. This time, it's Haunting Memories of the Dying and Vexatious Memories of the Dying you're after. As is the trend with the Resistance Relic Weapons, you have multiple options to acquire the necessary items. Your first option is earning them through FATEs in specific Stormblood zones, and your second is completing any Alliance Raid from either Heavensward or Stormblood. Alliance Raids are a guaranteed to drop a memory, while completing FATEs only off the chance for one. The quest requires you to get 18 of each type of memory regardless of which method you choose.

How to get Timeworn Artifacts

The second quest this upgrade requires you to complete is "A New Path of Resistance". Unlike the previous quest, you'll have to repeat this one with each job you're forging a Resistance Relic Weapon for.

For this quest you'll need 15 Timeworn Artifacts, which doesn't sound so bad until you realize what your options are. This step is considered the most time-consuming part of the Resistance Relic Weapon journey because neither option presented is quick or painless.

Your first and best option is to run Delubrum Reginae. This instance is part of your progression through the Bozja content and is needed in your journey to unlock the next zone, Zadnor, so you'll be doing this content at least once no matter which route you go with for your artifacts. Each completion of Delubrum Reginae will grant you three Timeworn Artifacts, so you'll need to run this content five times for every weapon you're working on.

Getting into Delubrum Reginae isn't as simple as it used to be when the content was current. Queuing through the Duty Finder to enter the instance is ill-advised because while the Duty will pop, you will likely find yourself in an undersized group when you enter, resulting in slow and painful runs. Instead, using the Party Finder to find a group is best.

You can also get Timeworn Artifacts through the Palace of the Dead. However, the first 100 floors have an extremely low drop rate. While the drop rate improves in floors above 100, it's still not guaranteed you'll get one of these artifacts, making it a much less efficient method.
