The Unsung Helm of Abyssos is one of several types of raid “tokens,” or relics, used to purchase Item Level 610 Purgatory armor in FFXIV released alongside Patch 6.2. You can exchange two helms for one piece of head armor (a.k.a. a single helmet). To do so, players must speak with either Mylenie in Labyrinthos (X: 8.3, Y: 27.6) or Djole in Radz-at-Han (X: 10.3, Y: 9.6).
You can only acquire Unsung Helms of Abyssos from all three out of four levels of the Abyssos raid. Said levels are as follows:
Note that all such relic drops — including the helm — are limited to one per raid level per week at the current-highest tier of raid. This is Abyssos as of the release of Patch 6.2. In other words, players must first roll Need or Greed on any available helm (or any other item from the loot pool for that matter). Then, if you win a particular gear token, you cannot claim any other tokens from that section until the weekly reset on Tuesday.
For example, claiming a helm from Abyssos: The Sixth Circle will lock you out of receiving further helms as well as all other gear items from The Sixth Circle until the reset. You may still receive gear tokens from the other three circles. Provided you haven’t already claimed the weekly token from them, of course.
Thus, FFXIV players are limited to four total tokens per new tier of Normal Raid per week and must choose which armor to prioritize. Because only two helms are needed to purchase head armor, however, you can technically obtain up to two Purgatory helmets per week. Such as if you decide to claim a healer helmet and a tank helmet.
