After years of teasers and delays, the long-awaited Halo Infinite has finally been released. Set on the Zeta Halo, you once again assume the role of the Spartan, Master Chief. Rescued by a fellow UNSC soldier, Master Chief is tasked with dispatching a rogue faction of the Covenant called The Banished.
Unlike other entries in the franchise, Halo Infinite mixes classic linear level design with a large open-world that players can explore. During your journey, you will come across numerous dangerous foes that want to squash Master Chief and mount his head on the wall. One of these enemies is Adjutant Resolution, a monitor who isn’t thrilled you want to shut down the Halo ring. He will be your first non-Banished boss in Halo Infinite and can be a bit of a headache if you don’t have the right weapons. Here’s how to defeat this foe and stop his incessant jabbering.
How to Defeat Adjutant Resolution
Taking a page from the Nintendo school of design, Adjutant Resolution’s weak points are the glowing orange circles on his cannons. Each one can be destroyed, but they take a decent amount of damage to break. The Battle Rifle and S7 Sniper Rifle are especially deadly in this fight thanks to their accuracy, allowing you to quickly deal a nice amount of burst damage. Around the room, you will also find a variety of weapons, but the Shock Rifle is far and away the best choice. Not only does it deal high damage, but this weapon also has a good magazine size and is supremely accurate.
When the fight starts, go to either your left or right behind the large columns. When fighting Adjutant Resolution, it’s key to break line of sight — otherwise, his main cannons will melt your health bar. Because of this, you will want to pop out of cover between salvos to shoot at either the top right or top left cannon. Destroying one will briefly immobilize Adjutant Resolution, allowing you to shoot the center eye for a healthy amount of damage. If you’re on Heroic or Legendary, make sure you’re ready to dive back into cover because the boss will begin attacking a second or two after it regains control.
Repeat this process until both top arms are destroyed, which will cause the Adjutant Resolution to start firing a large energy beam at you. This will melt your health bar, so don’t try to challenge him when he’s firing at you with this beam. It’s better to dive behind cover and wait out this attack before shooting at the lower cannons. You will also want to keep moving around the area, using the pillars as cover since he likes to give chase. Always try to keep several meters away from Adjutant Resolution to ensure you don’t get caught out by his attack.
I also recommend using the Dash ability for this fight, as it lets you quickly dive behind cover or away from this foe. Once all four cannons are destroyed, all Adjutant Resolution can do is fire that big energy beam which makes him pretty easy to deal with. Just time your attacks between the boss’ own until he’s reduced to nothing but scrap metal. If you’re struggling with this fight, remember to just slow down and take your time. You can fight Adjutant Resolution for as long as you want. It helps that he’s not terribly mobile, so you can run circles around him. Just be patient and only attack when he isn’t firing at you.
