Genshin Impact is all about increasing your party’s power so you can progress through the story and slay more dangerous monsters. Similar to other adventure games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, players will need to harvest resources to not only buff their gear but give them additional bonuses. One such item is the Wolfhook, which is located in a single area in Genshin Impact’s world. Used in Razor’s ascension, this item is absolutely crucial for anyone who wants to use this character in their party. Here’s where to find the Wolfhook, how to harvest it, and what items it’s currently used for.
Where to Find Wolfhook
Unlike many other fauna and crafting materials, Wolfhook is only available in a single area in the northern region of Mondstadt. This makes it both extremely easy to find and frustrating to farm since you are limited to how many will spawn at any time. If you want to gather Wolfhook, head to Wolvendom which is just south of the central city, Mondstadt. You can easily find this location since the path is right on the banks of Cinder Lake. Additionally, you can venture to Wolvendom very early on in Genshin Impact, so if you unlock Razor I suggest you start harvesting Wolfhook right away. Since it takes roughly 2-3 real-world days for any materials to respawn, you’ll want to stock up any time you can. The last thing you want is to hit Level 20 or 40 with Razor and not have enough Wolfhook to raise his Ascension Rank.

Wolfhook Use
At the time of writing this, the Wolfhook is solely used in increasing Razor’s ascension rank. This could obviously change with future updates, but for now, they are not used in crafting any consumables or items. It will take 168 Wolfhooks to reach Ascension 6 for Razor, so I recommend you start farming early. Even if you don’t have him right now, there’s always a chance you could pick him up later down the road.
I do suggest picking up Razor, as he’s a solid Electro character that not only deals solid Electro damage but can dish out some seriously strong auto attacks. Since he uses the claymore weapon, Razor can also battle against other Electro monsters, despite them typically being immune or resistant to his archetype’s attacks. Razor’s ultimate summons a massive electric wolf that will swipe at enemies, dealing heavy damage to anything it hits. He can also use his Combat Talent to deal damage and gain stacks of Electro Sigil, which increases his energy recharge rate. Finally, Razor boasts the passive Wolvenspirit talent, which reduces stamina consumption for your entire team by 20%. This makes him perfect for those wanting to explore the world or just focus on beating enemies down with his sword.
