Genshin Impact Dandelion Seed Guide – Dandelion Farming & Locations

How to get 20+ dandelion Seeds fast.

Are you looking for Ascension material? Do you want to craft some useful potions? Dandelion Seeds are one of Genshin Impact’s valuable resources, but it can take forever to find them by yourself. On top of that, you need the aid of an Anemo ally to actually collect the seeds. Using any Anemo attack on a Dandelion plant will do the job, so make sure you have at least one Anemo character ready to join the team.

Sucrose is ideal as she can simply use her normal attack to gather Dandelion Seeds rather than waiting for Elemental Skill cooldowns! However, if you don’t have any new Anemo characters from Wishes yet, you can use the Traveler. Just make sure your Traveler’s active Element is Anemo, and not Geo.

In this guide, we’ll show you where to find lots of Dandelion Seeds and how to use them.

Where to Find Dandelion Seeds

Dandelion Seeds are one of Mondstadt’s local specialties, along with other region-exclusive plants such as Wolfhook and Cecilia flowers. Unlike some of the other Mondstadt specialties though, Dandelion Seeds cannot be bought from traders. We need to explore the wild to get them.

There are 52 Dandelion Seeds to be found in the Mondstadt region. Take a look at the map to see all their locations (credit goes to this super useful interactive Genshin Impact map). Keep in mind that Dandelion Seeds take about three real-world days to regrow. All the more reason to start collecting them as soon as you pull a Jean or Eula From your Wishes!

How to Get Dandelion Seeds Fast

By far the best place to gather Dandelion Seeds is in front of the Mondstadt gates. If you leave the city (before crossing the stone bridge), you will find three Dandelion plants directly to your right and six to your left. The last two of those six are a little further up north. If you then run over the bridge to the east, you can find two more Dandelion Seeds just right of the Temple of the Falcon (on top of the cliff). Remember the locations in this area to get an easy stack of eleven Dandelion Seeds every three days.

The second best Dandelion location is on the cliffs southwest of the Dawn Winery. It takes a little more time to reach this area, but you can easily get up to ten Dandelion Seeds here. Just teleport to the new Ridge Watch dungeon, then run along the cliff’s edge towards the northwest until you can see a small pond below. The first Dandelion plants are behind it (you should be able to spot them from here). Glide down to start collecting them.

Unfortunately, the remaining Dandelion plants are less concentrated. If you don’t want to run too far, you can quickly gather two more Dandelions just north of the Teleport Waypoint at Cape Oath, and three more just south of the Statue of the Seven in Starfell Lake.

Visiting these locations will get you a total of 26 Dandelion Seeds.

Dandelion Seed Uses

Until recently, the only person in Genshin Impact needing Dandelion Seeds for Ascension was five-star character Jean. This changed with the arrival of fellow 5-star character Eula, who was added in Genshin Impact 1.5. Both characters need 168 Dandelion Seeds in total to reach their max Ascension level.

Dandelion Seeds are also used in alchemy. You need five seeds to craft an Anemoculus Resonance Stone, which is used to track Anemoculus locations around Mondstadt. You can also use Dandelion Seed to craft a Gushing Essential Oil or Windbarrier Potion. The first is used to increase Anemo damage by 25% for 5 minutes, and the latter is used to increase Anemo Elemental resistance by 25% for 5 minutes. This makes Dandelion Seed a pretty handy ingredient to have, even if you don’t have Jean or Eula on your team.
