Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer is here and it’s time to elevate your fashion game. Along with new weapons, a 6 player activity, armor, story missions, and season pass, the heavily requested armor transmogrification feature is finally arriving. In this season, players will team up with the Fallen Captain Mithrax to stop the Vex from plunging Earth into total darkness. Unsurprisingly, Iron Banner is making its return this season and will be including two updated Year 1 weapons and two brand new guns for you to hunt down. Naturally, this makes it the first Iron Banner in some time actually worth grinding outside of the Pinnacle drops.
Here’s how to complete the Season 14 Adversarial Relations quest:
(Author’s Note: At the time of writing this Iron Banner hasn’t gone live. All of the info below has been data mined and will be updated if anything changes with the quest launches tomorrow.)
Adversarial Relations Quest
1. Leverage the Void
- 10 Void or Arc Ability Kills
- 10 Zones Captured
- 30 Guardians Killed
Sorry everyone, you’re going to have to switch off Stasis for a little. For the first step, you’ll need to get 10 Void or Arc ability kills, capture 10 Zones, and kill 30 Guardians. Keep in mind, you will make progress to some of the future steps even if they are completed here. Meaning even if you complete the capture zones step for Leverage the Void, any additional points nabbed with go towards the next four steps. Because of this, you will always want to focus on capturing points even if that task is completed on your current quest step. This does not count for weapon-focused steps.
As for this step, the only difficult part may be the Void or Arc ability kills. Naturally, most of these will come from Supers so try to use “roaming” Supers to ensure you can bring down multiple targets. The only exception to this rule is Chaos Reach for the Warlock if you’re running Geomag Stabalizers. While they did get nerfed, it’s still a great way to get your Super around 2-3 times a match if you have 100 Intellect.
2. Negotiation By Force
- 20 Hand Cannon Kills
- 20 Zones Captured
- 6 Matches Completed
Once again you’re just killing people and now completing matches for this step. However, things do change a little since you’ll need to get some hand cannon kills. There are quite a few good choices such as Last Word, Thorn, Palindrome, Igenous Hammer, and True Prophecy. While the 120 RPM archetype did get hit with a range nerf, god rolls of these firearms are still very good so don’t feel bad about using them. You just can’t treat them like a damn sniper rifle anymore.
3. Adversarial Relations
- 10 Sniper Rifle Kills
- 30 Zones Captured
- 100 Guardians Killed
Oh look more zones captured and Guardians killed. Shocker. As for the sniper rifle kills, I recommend using Adorned, Eye of Sol, Succession, Frozen Orbit, or Succession. This step can be a little tricky if you’re not a sniper user, so don’t go for anything flashy. Sure covering a lane might not be exciting, but it can be an easy way to secure a few kills. You can also try to cover control points and go for those trying to take them away from your team. Even though you should go for a headshot remember that two rounds to the body will kill any Guardian without an overshield. Also, make sure to throw on Sniper Rifle Scavenger to ensure you get more ammo from every Special Ammo brick on the ground.
4. Hostile Takeover
- 15 Melee Kills
- 40 Zones Captured
- 10 Shotgun Kills
Oh boy, this step is going to suck. While the zones captured and shotgun eliminations won’t be that difficult, the 15 melee kills are going to be a bit of a headache. For this, you’ll want to ensure that you’re using the best melee abilities to increase your chances. This means, using bottom tree Gunslinger’s throwing knife, middle tree Stormcaller on Warlock, and literally any shoulder charge for Titans. Your goal is to secure melee kills, they don’t even need to be with your abilities. Monte Carlo is a perfect choice to assist you in this step as it can instantly refill your melee ability, giving you more chances to instantly eliminate a target. Alternatively, you can just play close and attempt to always make your final blow a melee.
5. Gunboat Diplomacy
- 15 Super Kills
- 25 Match Points
- 3 Machine Gun Kills
Compared to Hostile Takeover, this is a pretty simple step all things considered. Yes, you are reliant on getting Heavy ammo, but all you need is three machine gun kills so it’s not that bad. Just play near the Heavy ammo spawn and go for it whenever it appears. This might not be the most exciting method, but it’s definitely the quickest. As for Match Points, these are awarded based on if you win or lose a game. Winning an Iron Banner match will net you three points while losing only gets you one. So at a minimum, you will need to play and win five matches to complete this step. Once you’re done, return to The Tower to speak with Lord Saladin to complete the quest.
