Marvel’s Avengers is the latest game from developer Crystal Dynamics and it allows players top step in the shoes of iconic comic book characters like Iron Man, Captain America, and Black Widow. Combining beat em’ up style gameplay with a loot system similar to Destiny 2 or The Division 2, Avengers is all about growing your own personal version of these superheroes and beating down waves of villainous minions. While you can play alone, Avengers heavily pushes users to work with up to three additional people. This may leave some wondering if there is any crossplay cross-save support for Marvel’s Avengers.
Does Marvel’s Avengers Have Crossplay?
Sadly, it does not. At launch, Marvel’s Avengers does not support crossplay for PS4, PC, or Xbox One users. This means you will be locked into whatever console you decide to play on. Because of this, make sure you know which platform your friends are getting this title on, so you can still play with them. However, Avengers will support cross-generational crossplay when the PS5 and Xbox Series X launch. For the unfamiliar, this means if you are playing on PS4, you’ll be able to play with users on the PS5 version. Unfortunately, the Xbox and PC communities will still be inaccessible.
Along with crossplay, Marvel’s Avengers also boasts no cross-save feature for players at the time of writing this. Once again, this will change slightly once the PS5 and Xbox Series X launch, as users can carry their progress over to these new systems. Just remember, you cannot play Avengers in a different platform ecosystem and expect your save files to carry over. That being said, we wouldn’t be surprised if Crystal Dynamics introduced this feature for all players later down the road.

What is Marvel’s Avengers?
Marvel’s Avengers is a four-player co-op game that focuses on going through a series of missions to grow each character. Every hero has their own unique abilities, skill trees, and cosmetic items that you can equip. There is also a free battle pass for each of the Avengers, which is strictly tied to unlocking skins, calling cards, and other items that won’t directly impact the gameplay. Gear is on a power scale, meaning you will constantly find items that will increase your hero’s damage, health pool, and more. Similar to other looter shooters, there are different rarity tiers for items, which gives players something to hunt.
Keep in mind, at the time of writing this there is no PVP component of Avengers. We assume this is due to not only the PVE-focus of the game but the small hero pool available. Available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, Marvel’s Avengers is currently live for those who own the Deluxe Edition of the game. Everyone else will need to wait until September 4th when the normal version of Crystal Dynamic’s action game launches. If you’ve been looking for a good loot driven title before Destiny 2: Beyond Light launches in November, consider picking up Marvel’s Avengers.
