Call of Duty: Warzone M4A1 Guide - The Best Attachments for the M4A1

There are a lot of guns you can use in Call of Duty: Warzone. From the hefty AX-50 sniper rifle to the surprisingly powerful MP7, players have a lot of options when it comes to picking the right firearm. While the majority of the weapons you come across are scattered across the map or in loot crates,  smart users will hunt down Supply Drops. This is because Supply Drops allow players to access a custom loadout, complete with Perks and customized guns. One of the best weapons in the game right now is the M4A1, but picking from the dozens of attachments offered can be pretty daunting.

Since these attachments drastically impact the M4A1’s performance, you’ll want to make sure you’ve equipped the right ones. Keep in mind, a weapon loadout that functions in the traditional multiplayer mode may not work as well in Warzone. This battle royale has its own challenges, so you’ll typically want to make a separate loadout specifically for your Warzone weapon. If you’re looking for recommendations on which gun to start with, we broke down some of the best assault rifles currently available for Warzone.

Why the M4A1?

The M4A1 has been a supremely popular choice ever since Modern Warfare launched. It’s a solid assault rifle that is great for close and medium-range engagements. With a low, predictable recoil pattern, you can easily pepper targets with bullets before they even have time to retaliate. Even though it’s stopping power isn’t the highest, the M4A1 makes up for it with raw consistency. It’s a supremely easy weapon to use, making it one of the best rifles for new and veteran players.

This gun also has a plethora of attachments, allowing you to customize the M4A1 for your specific playstyle. However, we will be looking at the best attachments for general engagements, since you’ll often find yourself in fights around the 40-60 meter range. Again, these are only suggestions and you are free to adjust this weapon as you see fit. If you need a goods starting point here are the best attachments for the M4A1 we recommend using in Warzone.

COD Warzone Best Attachments M4A1

Best M4A1 Attachments

  • Muzzle – Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel – Stock M16 Grenadier
  • Sights – Integral Hybrid
  • Ammunition – 60 Round Mag
  • Rear Grip – Stippled Grip Tape
  • Laser – No Changes
  • Stock – No Changes
  • Perk – No Perks
  • Underbarrel – No Changes

Starting with the muzzle, we strongly encourage that you run either the Monolithic Suppressor or the Tactical Suppressor. Both don’t offer any major penalties and they give you a small boost to your accuracy. Keep in mind the Monolithic isn’t available until Level 58, so it will take some time to unlock this barrel. Yet, once you have the Monolithic Suppressor, it should be your go-to choice for the M4A1 muzzle.

As for the barrel, I always liked the Stock M16 Grenadier since it drastically improves this weapon’s range. You’ll absolutely want that boost since most early battles tend to take place as medium-range. The sight is where we are differing from a lot of the traditional M4A1 builds. Many suggest ditching the scope in favor of either No Stock or some underbarrel attachment. Personally, I’ve had a ton of success with the Integral Hybrid sights since they let you swap between close and medium range. This slot has a lot of flexibility, so if you’re comfortable with different sights then go for it.

One attachment you shouldn’t swap off though is the 60 Round Mag. Killing a fully armored enemy in a single clip is a very big deal, especially if you are facing multiple opponents. You typically don’t want to reload in the middle of a gun battle, so always make sure to have this magazine upgraded. Trust me, those extra bullets will absolutely save your life.

Finally, like the Monolithic Suppressor, Stippled Grip Tape is just a best in slot attachment. Even though it takes a while to unlock, it shouldn’t leave your gun once it’s attached. Until then, the Granulated Grip Tape is a decent substitute when you’re leveling up the gun. We aren’t adding a Perk to this weapon, mainly because most of the Perks are just underwhelming. The only one we like is Fully Loaded, but only as a secondary loadout in case you find a Supply Box but don’t have any ammo.

It may take some time to unlock all of these attachments, but the M4A1 is absolutely worth all the effort. Just make sure to get some practice in with the gun before you pick it up in Warzone!
