Where to Find the Violetgrass
If you are looking to farm Violetgrass you, thankfully, have more than a few locations to check out. The largest cluster of them is found in the mountains around Mingyun Village. If this area isn’t unlocked on your map just yet, don’t worry, keep playing the story and eventually you’ll be asked to make the trek south to Liyue. The earliest location you can collect these is Qingce Village, though there are only six around there and they aren’t exactly clustered together. The other most obvious place to farm Violetgrass is near the Huaguang Stone Forest, though you’ll need to do some island hopping as each is located atop a stone.
You can also purchase give Violetgrass from Verr Goldet at Wangshu Inn and Herbalist Gui at Bubu Pharmacy. They both charge 1,000 Mora each.
Remember, the grass will refresh around every two to three real-world days. Because of this, I recommend hitting all three areas. This will maximize your farm, reducing the amount of time spent waiting for them to respawn.
I give all the credit in the world to those behind this superb interactive Genshin Impact map below.

Violetgrass Uses
At the time of writing this, Violetgrass is primarily used for character ascensions. Right now, Qiqi and Xinyan are the only characters who require this material for ascension. If you really want to, you can also use them to cook Black-Back Perch Stew and Wanmin Restaurant’s Boiled Fish.
It takes 168 Violetgrass to reach Ascension 6 for a single character, so I recommend you start farming early. Even if you don’t have Qiqi or Xinyan right now, there’s always a chance you could pick one of them up later down the road. That’s a whopping 336 Violetgrass in total.
It’s possible that the Violetgrass will become more universally useful once the anticipated third region releases. We will update our guide with any new information or if changes are made to this crafting material. It’s possible there are more resource nodes located in Inazuma and if there are, we’ll update our map.
