Alumen is an FFXIV crafting material gathered by the Miner class, a Disciple of the Land. A white mineral used by leatherworkers to tan animal hides. It also has deodorizing properties. It’s an ingredient used to craft some early types of leather as a Leatherworker.
You can find the material within Level 20 Mineral Deposits northeast of Camp Drybone at the Royal Allagan Sunway (X: 18.8, Y: 20.9) in Eastern Thanalan. Before you can acquire the resource from the node, you must first unlock the Miner class. Then you need to be at least Level 16 before you can tap these nodes and acquire this material.
