There are many different vendors with unique currencies scattered throughout the world of Final Fantasy XIV. Some currencies, like Allagan Tomestones of Poetics, appear early in players' adventures, while others, like Purple Gatherer Scrips, are only available to players who reach the endgame for specific jobs.
Purple Gatherer Scrips act as Endwalker's endgame currency for delivering Collectables as the Disciple of Land jobs, replacing Shadowbringers' White Gatherers' Scrips. White Gatherers' Scrips are now the general scrip for gathered items up to level 89, replacing Yellow Gatherers' Scrips from previous expansions. Purple Gatherers' Scrips can only be obtained by Warriors of Light with a level 90 Botanist, Miner, or Fisher job and provide rewards such as gear up to item level 620, level-X materia, and crafting materials.
With some rewards costing upwards of 800 Purple Gatherers' Scrips, knowing how to quickly and efficiently gather the required items that earn them will make your life easier the next time you're in the market for some Gatherers' Materia.

The best ways to earn Purple Gatherers' Scrips in FFXIV
After completing the prerequisite quests for each expansion, you can find the items required to exchange for Purple Gatherers' Scrips by speaking to the Collectable Appraiser in major cities, like Radz-at-Han (X: 12, Y: 10) or Idyllshire (X: 5.7, Y; 7.0). From its menu, you'll see the needed item and the amount of currency you'll receive based on its collectability score.

Purple Gatherers' Scrip Farming for Miners and Botanists
For Miners and Botanists, these items come from timed gathering locations known as "unspoiled nodes." These nodes appear once every 12 Eorzean hours, or about 35 real-world minutes. These nodes will be active for two in-game hours, or six minutes, once they first spawn. After those six minutes are up, another unspoiled node will appear in another zone. Not all of these nodes yield the level 90 collectable items you're seeking if you gather each one as a single class. By having both Miner and Botanist leveled to 90, the uptime for one job's purple scrip collectables conveniently aligns with the other's downtime.
Here are the times and locations of the required unspoiled nodes and the job required to collect the required item. Following this route will ensure that with each time-limited spawn of the nodes, you'll have no downtime when farming Purple Gatherers' Scrips.
Eorzean Time | Item | Job Required | Location | Coordinates |
12:00 AM/PM | Rarefied Elder Nutmeg | Botanist | Elpis | (X: 25, Y: 5) |
2:00 AM/PM | Rarefied Eblan Alumen | Miner | Garlemald | (X: 12, Y: 21) |
4:00 AM/PM | Rarefied Pewter Ore | Miner | Thavnair | (X: 32, Y: 25) |
6:00 AM/PM | Rarefied Iceberg Lettuce | Botanist | Labyrinthos | (X: 10, Y: 22) |
8:00 AM/PM | Rarefied AR-Caean Cotton Boll | Botanist | Ultima Thule | (X: 9, Y: 33) |
10:00 AM/PM | Rarefied Annite | Miner | Elpis | (X: 8, Y: 36) |
How to get collectables in FFXIV
You'll use specific abilities to raise an item's collectability score when gathering collectables. An item must have a minimum collectability of 600 to exchange for scrips, earning more of the currency as you hit certain point thresholds. Anything falling beneath 600 will be a wasted slot in your inventory, as you can't alter the item's collectability once it's gathered.
When gathering, achieving the highest collectability requires careful use of abilities and GP management. Using items such as Cordials or Hi-Cordials and having the best melded gear available will ensure that you have enough GP to earn the minimum collectability or more when the next node spawns. Gathering collectables has its own "rotation," not unlike the Disciple of War jobs, but which abilities to use are dependent on the item's collectability after a few initial actions are taken. The following rotation requires having 700 GP to expend on abilities and branches after the "opener."
After using the first two combos of Scrutiny and Meticulous Woodsman or Prospector, the collectibility of the item determines which actions should follow. At the end of the rotation when there's one attempt, or integrity, left on the item, using Botanist's Ageless Words or Miner's Solid Reason grants another gathering attempt. Using these abilities has the potential to proc Wise to the World, giving a second attempt alongside it.
Using the rotation will drain you of most of your GP, and without using a Cordial, you may be unable to perform the same rotation again when the next node spawns. When you arrive at the next node on your route, there's a shorter rotation to know if you're only hovering between 400 to 600 GP. First, open with:
- Scrutiny
- Scour
- Scrutiny
If the Collector's Standard buff has proc'd after using those three abilities, use Meticulous Woodsman/Prospector. Otherwise, use Scour. At this point, if you haven't met the minimum 600 collectability rating, use Scrutiny once more, using the Meticulous ability if proc'd and Scour if not. This should leave you with at least one remaining integrity to gather from.
Knowing the rotations and the spawn locations will ensure you always depart from a node with at least one item to turn in, bringing in a steady stream of Purple Gatherers' Scrips when you return to the Collectable Appraiser.
Fishing for Purple Gatherers' Scrips
Those familiar with fishing in Final Fantasy XIV understand just how painful the randomness of each catch can be. Fish require specific bait, yet even then you might sit at the dock for 20 minutes before ever catching the fish you're aiming for. Fishing certainly isn't the most time efficient method for gathering Purple Gatherers' Scrips, though it may be preferable to those who only have the one Disciple of the Land job leveled.

Using the level 50 ability "Collect" allows you to reel in particular fish in their "collectable" state. Their collectability rating is based on their size, meaning careful use of skills like Patience and Prize Catch may earn you higher scores. A more consistent method for collecting the scrips as a Fisher is from spearfishing, though the element of randomness and chance still persist there.
Head to the Ruby Sea (X: 37.4, Y: 12.2) beneath the water to spearfish. The large, slow moving shadows belong to the Kitefin Shark, who will net you 35 purple scrips at most and 14 at the minimum. While this isn't as much as some of its counterparts that can only be caught on a hook, the rate at which you obtain the Kitefin Shark seems more consistent comparatively.
Fishing may offer a break from slapping rocks and bushes for collectables, but leaving the rate at which you collect items up to chance makes it the far more inconsistent method.
