Final Fantasy XIV will be going down for maintenance next week for the release of Patch 6.58. The patch, which releases on March 19, will see FFXIV go down for a projected nine-hour maintenance ahead of release, as per an announcement on March 15.
This appears to be a longer maintenance, especially for a patch which doesn’t offer much in the way of new content. However, from a technical standpoint, 6.58 will be the first patch in which Xbox users are joining the rest of the population in the full game. Additionally, support for 32-bit Windows operating systems and DirectX9 is being removed. This likely means a few more tweaks and changes than expected.
Beyond this, 6.58 will also be the end of Crystalline Conflict Season Ten, it will see the Echo strength increased in Pandæmonium: Anabaseios (Savage), and will make changes to PvP actions. Again, a small patch content-wise, but big on the more technical aspect. Although this patch doesn't contain much in terms of content, there could be some patches leading up to Dawntrail that will introduce some new things to the game, such as the FFXVI crossover scheduled for April.
Below are listed all the times when servers will go down for maintenance on March 18 (March 19 for some regions). As mentioned, maintenance is scheduled to last for nine hours, but could finish sooner.
