Final Fantasy XIV will welcome its 6.57 update on Feb. 13, according to a post on the game’s official Lodestone site. News of the patch release date and upcoming maintenance dropped during the early morning of Feb. 9, burying the lede with its warning of All Worlds Maintenance.
In the post, Square Enix described that FFXIV will be down between Feb. 12 at 7pm PST and Feb. 13 at 2am PST, although completion time is subject to change. The maintenance will implement Patch 6.57 and conduct maintenance on the infrastructure.
FFXIV X.X7 patches are usually nothing to write home about, and they don’t even usually get their own patch notes page. This is because they’re often bug-fix patches or updates that add items and content that won’t be fully activated until later in the year.
In this case, it’s likely that 6.57 will only include additional content that will be added in later events, such as Little Ladies’ Day content, Hatching-tide, and the second part of the current Moogle Treasure Trove.

As usual with maintenance, make sure to get any cross-world travel you want done before the start, as Data Center Travel will be suspended 30 minutes before maintenance begins and will be unavailable until maintenance has ended. Home World Transfer Service, Character Renaming Service, and Item/Gift code entry also won't work during the maintenance.
This is a tiny crumb of information, and with Dawntrail and other patch content on the horizon – such as the Final Fantasy XVI collaboration – it is still worth adding to the calendar. Square Enix also recently let slip that patch 6.58 was likely to drop in March due to a DirectX 9 support notice. There’s been a surplus of small updates in 2024 so far, and the game looks primed to welcome more as the 6.5X series of patches grows ever larger ahead of the next expansion’s release.
