FFXIV Maiden's Rhapsody FFXI Event Guide: Quest Locations and Amatsu Gear

The Final Fantasy XI crossover collab event is back in FFXIV, and you can get a sweet gear set straight from Vana'diel.

Once again, Final Fantasy XIV players can take part in the Final Fantasy XI crossover quest this year. It’s dubbed The Maiden’s Rhapsody: Memories of an Unseen Realm and is the same collaboration event we’ve seen in the past. The FFXI Maiden’s Rhapsody collab is happening now until May 18, 2022 at 7:59 a.m. PT. Players who already completed this event in 2015, 2017, or 2020 can run it again if they want. But if you’re new to it, get ready for some FATEs, FFXI callbacks, and Amatsu glam.

In order to participate, you need a Job at level 30 or higher. Speak to Remumu in Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (X: 11.6, Y: 11.2) for the starting quest titled “A Journey to Remember.” You’ll then meet Iroha, who is the main character of FFXI‘s Rhapsodies of Vana’diel storyline. She has accidentally crossed worlds, and you have to help her out by clearing FATEs across each of FFXIV‘s starting regions.

Each objective in the questline will direct you to the right region and mark the corresponding FATE on your map. Iroha will appear in each of the following FATEs to fight alongside you. The first FATE is “Our Favorite Pastime” near Costa del Sol in Eastern La Noscea (X: 32.0, Y: 33.0). The second FATE is “The Way of the Samurai” which is in Central Shroud (X: 11.0, Y: 23.0). The third FATE is “Serket Breaker” within the Sangolii Desert in Southern Thanalan (X: 23.0, Y: 37.0).

And the last FATE is “The Key to Amatsu: Kyori” in Upper La Noscea (X: 27.0, Y: 23.0). For this last one, you’ll face two enemies — simply take out the Spotter first, then you can target the Dread Dragon (watch out for its back-facing cone AoEs). The questline then concludes back where it started in Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks.

For completing this even questline, you’ll receive the Amatsu gear set — this glam reflects Iroha’s appearance. It comes with the following head, body, hands, legs, and feet gear pieces. You can check out how the Amatsu gear looks on a character using our very own FFXIV model viewer in your browser.

Amatsu Hachigane (head), Amatsu Togi (body), Amatsu Tekko (hands), Amatsu Haidate (legs), and Amatsu Sune-ate (feet) equipped in our FFXIV model viewer.

Throughout the questline, you’ll see shots of FFXI with flashbacks to the Rhapsodies of Vana’diel storyline and Iroha’s memories. Damn, maybe I should play FFXI? Either way, it’s pretty dope to see the worlds cross over, even for a short and simple event quest (that you may have done years before).
