We’ve made it to Patch 6.1 and the Final Fantasy FXIV Fashion Report for April 15, 2022! It comes right as we swing into new (and newfound) adventures. Naturally, you want to look your best for all the new and returning players, so head over to the Manderville Gold Saucer to get an evaluation of your outfit. Remember that you can now purchase the Pod 602 NieR: Automata mount for a whole 300,000 MGP here, so read our guide on how you can most easily farm MGP for it (assuming you’re not already some sort of rich Gold Saucer gambler).
Speaking of gambling: that’s one of this weeks’ themes to help you get 80 points! The so-called “easy 80” — the Fashion Report score that provides the maximum reward for minimal effort — is mercifully easy this week overall. At least as long as you’re Level 60 or higher. It’s also very flexible, depending on how far you’re in the Main Scenario Quest and what kind of currency you’re willing to spend.

While we try to provide extra context on how and where to acquire specific items, Kaiyoko has collated so much of this Fashion Report data on the FFXIV subreddit every week for years. Kaiyoko also provides more detailed information on getting 100 points for the associated achievement.
FFXIV Fashion Report Scoring – The Basics
FFXIV fashion is an important aspect of the game, which is why the development team introduced the Fashion Report. This weekly challenge lets players play dress-up for fabulous prizes. It awards massive amounts of MGP (a special currency used in the Manderville Gold Saucer), which can be exchanged for items like exclusive mounts. To get a good chunk of MGP, you just need to earn the ever-elusive 80 points in the Fashion Report by wearing the correct glamour every weekend. While the score technically goes up to 100, the 80-point requirement is what you need to receive the maximum number of MGP in each event.
As always, you want to have at least a random piece of gear equipped to every slot on your character (not including the off-hand slot for secondary tools and shields). This will earn you at least a bare minimum number of Fashion Report points in every “unthemed” slot! It also doesn’t include Soul Crystals, so don’t worry about whatever Job you have equipped. You’re included, too, crafters and gatherers.
From there, you can increase your score by matching the categories laid out by the Fashion Report judge in each of the slots that are themed (i.e. named), as well as adding certain dyes. Matching the correct category of clothing to the weekly theme earns you points up to a maximum of 100. The correct color of dye (e.g. grey, white, black, etc.) adds a bonus of one point per slot; finding the right shade of dye within those colors (e.g. Ice Blue, Chocolate Brown, etc.) is worth two points per slot. The way this math works out, you should only need one matching item and two matching dyes or two matching items with zero dyes.
Using dye to boost your Fashion Report score is typically easier than matching every category of item perfectly. That’s because most dyes are awfully cheap and accessible, while many pieces of clothing are expensive — or at least require high ranks in crafting Jobs to create. That’s not always the case, of course, since some dyes are only available for special currencies or with real money from the Mog Station. There are always exceptions that prove the rule.
If you haven’t yet unlocked the Fashion Report, you must first complete the quest “Passion for Fashion” in the Wonder Square district of the Manderville Gold Saucer. This unlocks at Level 15. After that point, the fashion theme will update every week on Tuesdays at 1:00 a.m. PT / 4:00 a.m. ET. The named themes for each piece are repeatable, meaning the clothing required for particular gear themes is preset and may rotate in again later. It’s sometimes beneficial to hold on to old fashion fodder for this purpose. Finally, you can submit yourself for judging on Fridays at 1:00 a.m. PT / 4:00 a.m. ET. Judging closes again on the following Tuesday (when the theme resets).
As one final note, Glamours do work. You can apply any of the relevant appearances to your gear with a Glamour and the Fashion Report will function as if you had that gear equipped.
FFXIV Fashion Report: Easy 80 Points for the Weekend of April 15, 2022
As mentioned above, it’s another extremely easy week in the FFXIV Fashion Report game! Level 60 players who have already completed the quest “The Greater Obeisance” just need a pair of the free Scion Adventurer’s Boots. If you threw those out, any Calamity Salvager will sell them back to you for just 100 Gil. You can complement this with a Sphene Choker, which you can purchase for a measly 1,817 Gil from the NPC vendor Sileas. They’re located in Ul’dah on the Steps of Thal (X: 10.0, Y: 12.5). If you’d rather spend a few Wolf Marks instead of Gil, the Wolf Amber Choker is another good option. Purchase it from the Wolves’ Den Pier for just 125 of the PVP currency.
Dragonskin Boots are a far lower-level option available on the Market Board. You can also craft them yourself as a Level 56 Leatherworker. Falconer’s Boots can also be worn as early as Level 1 but, as ever, your mileage will vary according to what players are selling crafted items for on your Data Center.
The torso slot this week is dominated by Gold Saucer items (in other words: anything you can purchase with MGP from the Prize Claim in the Gold Saucer itself). Some of you may already have one of these tops. The Bunny Bustier and Bunny Chief Bustier, for example, are somewhat popular Glamour items. I don’t recommend buying them just for the challenge, though. They cost a significant amount of MGP, and there are better options available. For instance, there’s also the Best Man’s Jacket. It’s fairly pricey at 18,000 Gil, but at least it doesn’t cost MGP. You can buy it from the NPC Rianne — also found in Ul’dah but on the Steps of Nald (X: 9.8, Y: 9.0).
Of course, there are several options for your arms as well. Though you need to be Level 60 and/or rely on random dungeon drops for most of them. Thavnairian Gloves can be bought on the Market Board, but rely on Treasure Map materials. As such they tend to be pretty pricey. Whereas the Koppranickel Armlets can be purchased in The Pillars of Ishgard, but they’re Job-specific and cost more than the Best Man’s Jacket. I don’t recommend them over the much easier and/or cheaper Scion Adventurer’s Boots if level is an issue.

If you can equip any two of these items above, that’s… all there is to it! You’re set for this week. Though you can also use one of the equipment items and two dyes. As for which dyes get extra points in this week’s Fashion Report, be sure to use the following:

- Body – Gunmetal Black (The Firmament)
- Gloves – Gobbiebag Brown (Goblin Tribe Purchase)
- Legs – Dark Purple (Mog Station)
- Feet – Ruby Red (The Firmament)
Most of this week’s dye options are actually very pricey. As such, I don’t recommend using dye at all this week. The Firmament dyes, purchased for Skybuilders’ Scrip, can cost tens of thousands of Gil on the Market Board. You can farm them yourself, of course, but that’s time consuming and a pain. You really don’t need them anyway.

This week, assuming you’re Level 60, all you need are two cheap pieces of gear that are easy to acquire.

As is always the case, you must first complete the quest “Color Your World” to apply dye in FFXIV. You can start it at level 15 as any class by speaking to Swyrgeim in Western Thanalan (X: 12.6, Y: 14.3). Even if you can hit the 80 points this week without dyes, it’s well worth doing for future FFXIV Fashion Report checks. You’ll even get a couple of free dyes to kick things off! These are normal Dyemonger dyes and will often work for future Fashion Reports.
