It’s time to push further into the Forbidden Land that is Eureka. This guide will cover Elemental Weapons, the second iteration of the Relic Weapons introduced in the Stormblood expansion of Final Fantasy XIV. You will need to have access to the second zone in Eureka, and if you need help progressing, you can use our Eureka fast leveling guide. None of these weapons are best-in-slot anymore, so you’re purely doing this for your own satisfaction or those sweet, sweet weapon glamours.
For help on the whole process, be sure to use our main guide for the entire Eureka Relic questline.
How to Unlock Your Elemental Relic Weapon
You can’t start on your Elemental Relic grind until you unlock the next region of Eureka, Pagos. You’ll need to grab the “And We Shall Call It Pagos” from Rodney in Kugane (X: 8.6, Y: 14.2). To be eligible for the quest, you have to finish all of Krile’s Eureka Anemos quests (from the previous zone).
Eureka has its own bespoke leveling system, the Elemental Level. Your character will gain Elemental Levels by completing content within Eureka, which will net you Elemental Experience Points. These levels will persist when you come and go from Eureka, so don’t worry about grinding it out all at once.
The Locations For Krile’s Eureka Pagos Quests
You can’t truly finish Eureka Pagos, or even start improving your Relic Weapon, until you finish the region’s storyline. Krile in Eureka Pagos (X: 3.7, Y: 24.3) will offer you a series of quests, requiring you to find specific locations around the island. These quests come at specific Elemental Levels.
- Level 21: The Cones (X: 16.5, Y: 28.8)
- Level 23: The Val River Belly (X: 26.7, Y: 30.7)
- Level 25: The Eastern Edge (X: 30.9, Y: 20.7) and The Eastern Edge (X: 30.7, Y: 21.0)
- Note: This is the quest that will unlock Geroltin Eureka Pagos (X: 4.2, Y: 25.0). Once you’ve started it, Gerolt will be available.
- Level 29: Talk to Ejika Tsunjika at Eureka Pagos (X: 9.9, Y: 21.4). You’ll need to wade through Hot Water and then go to (X: 9.9, Y: 21.3) to finish this quest.
- Level 35: The Fumarole (X: 21.8, Y: 12.4)
Again, if you need help getting through this, our guide on how to level up fast in Eureka will be of great use to you.
How to Acquire Frosted Protean and Pagos Crystals
Each step of upgrading your Anemos Relic will always require a certain combination of Pagos-specific crystals and other items found within the zone. You won’t be able to get the primary item you need until you unlock the level 25 Pagos quest and Gerolt in the zone. Gerolt will offer the Vitiated Aether Kettle. Once you have this item, you’ll get Vitiated Aether for killing Notorious Monsters and other mobs of equal or higher Elemental Level.
Vitiated Aether is held in charges (maximum of nine) that you bring to the Crystal Forge in Eureka Pagos (X: 6.0, Y: 21.5). Each charge will result in one Frosted Protean Crystal, which is the main item needed to upgrade your weapon. You’ll also get Pagos Crystals for killing any Notorious Monster.
The last item that you’ll need is Louhi’s Ice. Like Pazuzu’s Feather in the previous zone, this item drops from a specific Notorious Monster FATE — in this case, completing the “Louhi on Ice,” an Elemental Level 23 Notorious Monster that appears in Eureka Pagos (X: 35.7, Y: 18.7). Finishing the encounter with a Gold rating will net you two (2) Louhi’s Ice. Alternatively, you can buy them from the Expedition Birdwatcher in Eureka Pagos (X: 4.5, Y: 24.4), for 50 Pagos Crystals each.
How to Upgrade Your Anemos Weapon to Elemental
You can upgrade your Anemos Weapon by talking to Gerolt in Eureka Pagos (X: 4.2, Y: 25.0). Your Anemos weapon will need to be upgraded three times in order to become an Elemental Weapon, each time improving the weapon’s stats slightly. Each upgrade costs a certain amount of Pagos items.
- Pagos: Frozen Protean Crystals (5)
- +1 Pagos: Frozen Protean Crystals (10), Pagos Crystals (500)
- Elemental: Frozen Protean Crystals (16), Louhi’s Ice (5)
Once you hand over the final set of items, Gerolt will award you with the Elemental Relic Weapon, marking the end of the second upgrade phase! Head back to the main guide for information on the subsequent phases of your Eureka Relic Weapon grind.
