Destiny 2 Season 13 Week 7 Challenges Tips Guide

One of the big changes for Destiny 2’s new Season of the Chosen is the replacement of weekly vendor bounties. Instead, your quests tab has a new hub for new Seasonal Challenges. For the first ten weeks of each season, Bungie will be adding new weekly quests via this new system in an effort to make up for the lost XP and Bright Dust rewards. In this guide, we’ll be looking at the Destiny 2 Season 13, Week 7 challenges and offering some tips for fast completion.

How Do These New Challenges Work?

The new weekly challenges work about how you’d expect them to. Each week, Bungie will be adding more though there won’t be a specific number of challenges each time. You have until the end of the season to complete them, so no worries if you’re not keeping up with the progression as you go. In fact, waiting makes it a bit easier to complete the whole thing faster as you can earn progress across multiple challenges at once.

Completion Tips

For the fastest possible completion, we recommend completing the playlist requirements first.

  • Prioritize using a submachine gun throughout the story missions. This will help you make progress towards One Against Many and part of the Contender’s Ascent VII challenge.
  • Anarchy, Blast Battue, and Crowd Pleaser are great for Heavy grenade launcher kills.
  • You can listen to previous or missed radio transmissions by loading in and out of the H.E.L.M.

Contender’s Ascent VII

Report to the War Table in the HELM and complete the Challenger’s Proving VI quest. Then defeat Cabal using a Submachine Gun.

Rewards: XP, Empress Lore Chapter, Large War Table Reputation, Extraordinary Rendition (Legendary Submachine Gun)

The last story quest for Season of the Chosen has you finally attacking that massive tank on Nessus. While you will need to go through the same song and dance of completing a Battlegrounds and pillaging a chest, it won’t end there. After speaking to Zavala, he will inform you that it’s time to accept Caiatl’s challenge. Once you complete the Proving Grounds strike, watch the new cutscene, speak to Crow and Zavala the mission will end. Then all you have to do is get 100 Cabal submachine gun kills, which is quite easy to do. I recommend just farming them in the new Strike since you’ll have to complete it three times for the Proving Grounds Trifecta challenge anyway.

Proving Grounds Trifecta

Complete the following the Proving Grounds strike: finish the mission three times, defeat 150 combatants deposit two Power Cores in the undercarriage of the Land Tank.

Rewards: XP, Large War Table Reputation

Another very simple quest, all you need to do for this is essentially complete the strike three times. Both the number of combatants killed and socketing the Power Cores will be naturally finished as you redo this strike. As mentioned above, I suggest using a submachine gun until you complete that portion of the Contender’s Ascent VIII challenge. Remember, you can directly access this strike via the Nessus destination menu above Watcher’s Grave.

Diplomacy or Death

Listen to 5 intercepted transmissions at the radio kiosk in the H.E.L.M.

Rewards: XP

This part can be a bit confusing if you haven’t explored the H.E.L.M. much, but there’s actually a radio kiosk next to the post master. Interacting with it will play you a message from one of the main characters in Season of the Chosen’s storyline. While you will need to listen to five of them, you won’t be time-locked out of hearing them. Previously these used to release each week, but you can actually listen to multiple ones by going to orbit and then flying back to the H.E.L.M. There’s a good chance that many of you will have some of this step already completed when you boot up Destiny 2.

Keep in mind, you need to listen to the entire transmission. Starting it and just leaving the H.E.L.M. won’t count towards Diplomacy or Death. Additionally, there will be a brand new transmission available after you complete this week’s story quest, so make sure to visit that kiosk!

One Against Many

Calibrate weapons by rapidly defeating 3 or more combatants.

Rewards: XP

Another easy challenge, all you need to do for this is quickly kill 3 or more enemies within a few seconds of each other. You will need to do this multiple times and there’s a high chance you’ll just finish this while playing through this week’s story mission. If you’re struggling, I recommend using an auto rifle or submachine gun. These are great for swiftly slaying low tier enemies, letting you rack up those multi-kills. One good spot to farm groups of enemies is the Kingship Dock Lost Sector in The Tangled Shore.

Gambit’s Salvager’s Salvo

Acquire the Toxicology ornament for the Salvager’s Salvo grenade launcher.

Rewards: Double XP

To complete this step you will need to first earn the Salvager’s Salvo grenade launcher. This quest is handed out by Banshee-44 in the Tower and is remarkably straightforward. Upon obtaining this weapon, you can then get the Gambit Salvager quest from The Drifter which rewards the Toxicology ornament upon completion. To complete this quest you’ll need to bank a lot of Motes and get 100 Heavy grenade launcher kills in Gambit. For this quest, I strong suggest not invading, since you’ll want to focus on PVE kills. You can use either a heavy or special grenade launcher for this step, so make sure to equip one in both slots. This will ensure that you can quickly complete this step without needing to worry about ammo.

Beyond Legendary

Earn 5 Valor Ranks

Rewards: Quadruple XP

All you need to do for this step is obtain five Valor Ranks in the Crucible. Valor is tied to the Rumble, Control, and weekly PVP activity in the Crucible menu. For whatever reason, this step isn’t retroactive so if you’ve reset your Valor this season like me your progress won’t count.
