Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer is here and it’s time to elevate your fashion game. Along with new weapons, a 6 player activity, armor, story missions, and season pass, the heavily requested armor transmogrification feature is finally arriving. In this season, players will team up with the Fallen Captain Mithrax to stop the Vex from plunging Earth into total darkness. Along with all this new content, players can also experience the Vault of Glass raid for the first time in Destiny 2. The original raid in the base game, Vault of Glass is beloved by many in the community due to its encounter design and loot. One of my favorite weapons that returned is the Praedyth’s Revenge sniper rifle.

How to Get Praedyth’s Revenge

You can only obtain the Praedyth’s Revenge in the Vault of Glass raid. Not counting opening the door, this weapon can drop from the second (Oracles) and fifth encounter (Atheon). Once the weapon drops, it has a chance to appear in any of the secret chests hidden throughout the activity. Additionally, after getting Praedyth’s Revenge once, you can turn in your Spoils of Conquest for a random roll of this sniper rifle. It costs 20 Spoils per weapon, so you will only be able to acquire one free Praedyth’s Revenge during a full completion of the raid. However, since Spoils of Conquest can be farmed in raids, this is the most consistent way to ensure you get at least one of these to drop when you go through the Vault of Glass.

Praedyth’s Revenge is probably one of the best PVE legendary snipers in the entire game if you get the right roll. In the barrel slot, you’ll want either Arrowhead Brake or Fluted Barrel. The former greatly decreases the weapon’s recoil, while the former focuses mainly on Handling. I personally prefer Arrowhead Brake, as it allows me to consistently land critical shots when firing quickly. Your magazine should be Tactical Mag to give us some additional ammo and a faster reload speed. You can go for Extended Mag, but I was never a fan of reload penalties on sniper rifles.

Our first main perk is exclusive to the Vault of Glass and is called Rewind Rounds. This perk will refund you rounds based on the number of hits you make before the magazine is empty. It’s an incredibly potent ability that allows you to swiftly deal a ton of damage to static targets like bosses or stunned Champions. When combined with High Impact Reserves or Frenzy to boost your damage, the Praedyth’s Revenge can be an absolute monster of a weapon. I expect this to be one of the meta snipers for at least the entire season.

Unfortunately the PVP version of Praedyth’s Revenge is not nearly as unique, but it’s still quite consistent. For both the barrel and magazine perks we are looking to increase this weapon’s effective damage range. This makes Corkscrew Rifling and Accurized Rounds the ideal choice. However, this is an argument that can be made for Arrowhead Brake if you’re having trouble controlling the weapon’s recoil. The first primary perk should either be Quickdraw or Moving Target. Quickdraw is great for those who like to quickly snap on targets and not just hardscope long sightlines.

Inversely, Moving Target gives us better bonuses while aiming down the sights and moving at the same time. This is perfect if you like to dual other snipers or just want to have slight edge when firing at enemies. Both are great choices, so it really comes down to if you prefer to quickscope or have a slightly slower playstyle. Regardless of which one you pick, Opening Shot should be your second perk. Not only will this give us another range bump, but our first shot will have far better accuracy. Being able to more consistently hit and kill Guardians can make all the difference in more competitive modes like Trials of Osiris.
