If you’ve somehow managed to stay off the internet for the past week and are unaware, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is in the middle of an event called “Bunny Day,” which is basically a secular Easter celebration. The event has gained the ire of many players for its unsettling rabbit mascot, but most notably for its replacing of various resources with decorated Easter eggs that you can use to make different kinds of furniture and other items that add a little Easter festivity to your island. While that’s cute in premise, Nintendo didn’t seem to account for just how frustrating it can be when you’re trying to collect certain materials and can’t do it because eggs are popping out of every rock you hit with your shovel, tree you shake, and lake you try to fish from.

Well, Nintendo has heard these criticisms and released a patch for New Horizons that, while doesn’t completely eradicate the eggs from your island and all that inhabits it, will at least make them fewer and farther between.

In the official patch notes (translated via Google), it says that “during the Easter event, the appearance rate of some eggs has been adjusted until April 11, 2020.” It’s worth noting that the event lasts up until April 12, so according to the patch notes, these eggs will be back in full force for the final day. Which is fine, I guess. If this is going to be the last chance for anyone to get these eggs and craft these items, the game might as well go all out for them on that last day.

So if you’ve been waiting for Bunny Day to end to get back into the swing of things, it sounds like once you’ve downloaded this new patch you’ll have an easier time finding other resources that have eluded you since the event began. Just yesterday I was trying to furnish new houses on my island and had to waste two Nook Miles Tickets to go to new islands and find one (1) piece of clay to make a pot. Turns out, the eggs were on those islands too, so there really was no escaping them. My main question now, is whether or not these eggs that I’ve left laying around my island will disappear on April 13 along with Zipper the Rabbit, or am I going to have to clean up after this dude once his nonsense is over and done?
