Warframe‘s latest Prime Vault opening features Nyx Prime and Rhino Prime. Their return from the Prime Vault means that their components are now obtainable through Void Relics until they are once again rotated out in a few months. But as with every Prime Vault opening, you can also directly purchase Nyx Prime and Rhino Prime, along with a lot of extras. So, is the Nyx Prime and Rhino Prime Dual Pack worth it?
What You Get — Nyx Prime and Rhino Prime Dual Pack
The main offering for this Prime Vault unvaulting features, of course, Nyx Prime and Rhino Prime. It also includes the weapons Ankyros Prime, Boltor Prime, Scindo Prime, and Hikou Prime. In terms of cosmetics, you get the Noru Prime Syandana, Targis Prime Armor Set, Vala Prime Sugatra, and Nyx Prime and Rhino Prime Glyphs. You also get a Distilling Extractor Prime and Blueprint. Finally, the pack includes 1200 Platinum. This price for this pack is $59.99.
That may seem steep for a content pack, but let’s take a closer look. Firstly, the cosmetics included are currently exclusive to this bundle. If you’re a Syandana or armor set collector, you can’t currently get these ones anywhere else.
In terms of the frames themselves, Nyx Prime is regarded as one of the less effective options in the game right now. Her abilities are neat to play around with, letting her control enemies and nullify incoming damage, but she doesn’t have a lot of utility. Rhino Prime, on the other hand, is a very strong and fairly straightforward frame whose defensive abilities and offensive buffs make him equally as useful in solo and team situations. It’s also just a lot of fun to charge around the place knocking Corpus goons over.
Most fist-based weapons aren’t top-tier in Warframe, and unfortunately the Ankyros Prime is no exception. Scindo Prime is a definite step up, but it still can’t touch some of the top-performing melee weapons right now, like the Stropha, Nikana Prime, or Paracesis. Hikou Prime is an ok throwing weapon for your pistol slot, though most players prefer actual pistols. Finally, Boltor Prime is a decent rifle, though again, it fails to reach the heights of top-tier weapons like the Bubonico, Ignis Wraith, or Rubico Prime.

So, is the Nyx Prime and Rhino Prime Dual Pack Worth It?
If you’re going to spend money on Warframe, then the Prime Vault packs are the way to go — even if this one is a little underwhelming in terms of the weapons and frames on offer. To illustrate, if you were to purchase Platinum on its own, you could get 1000 for $49.99. For an additional $10, the Prime Vault pack gives you 200 more Platinum, some cosmetics, four Prime Weapons, and two Prime Warframes. Other than the Dual Pack, you can also purchase individual Nyx Prime and Rhino Prime packs or even just the accessories for each Warframe. Of course, the Dual Pack works out to be the best deal, and the individual ones don’t come with as much Platinum, nor is it as highly discounted.
The only reason to spend money elsewhere in Warframe would be if you prefer to unlock Primes via Void Relics and/or if you only want to spend money on cosmetics. Even if that’s the case, though, you could still buy the Dual Pack and then immediately sell the frames and weapons, which would leave you with the cosmetics and Platinum — still a great deal. And if you don’t want to spend any money at all, remember that everything in the current Prime Vault pack (with the exception of the cosmetics) is available in-game via Void Relics until Nyx Prime and Rhino Prime are returned to the vault. Good hunting, Tenno.
