Pokemon GO World of Wonders Special Research - All Steps and Rewards

Players will embark on a journey with a mysterious, out-of-this-world friend.

Ultra Wormholes have suddenly appeared once more in Pokemon GO, requiring the teamwork of Professor Willow, Rhi of the GO Ultra Recon Squad, and the player to prevent them from wreaking havoc. For the entirety of the World of Wonders season, lasting from March 1 to June 1, players will be investigating these occurrences through a Special Research story alongside a new, peculiar friend: The Poison Type Ultra Beast, Poipole.

Poipole is a pink and purple Ultra Beast with a stinger on its head.

Players will receive this Special Research story for simply logging in during the World of Wonders season, with new entries to the research being added periodically. Claiming the research will allow players to complete it at their discretion, as it will not expire—though some of the tasks may be slightly more difficult to complete when the season ends due to spawn and Raid pool changes. This follows the addition of previous seasonal Special Research stories, such as those surrounding the Legendary Pokemon Cosmog and Mythical Pokemon Hoopa.

Not only will players be given the opportunity to catch Poipole in the early phases of the Special Research, but they'll also be given access to a handful of helpful items and other rare Pokemon for completing the tasks. As the story continues, players will likely stumble upon the ability to evolve Poipole into the Poison and Dragon Type Ultra Beast, Naganadel, unlocking its fullest potential and gaining an even stronger ally against the otherworldly forces.

Step 2 of 5:

Complete 7 Field Research Tasks - Reward: Chance to catch Skorupi
Explore 10km - Reward: Chance to catch Sneasel
Make 20 Nice Throws - Reward: 15 Great Balls

Completion Reward: 25 Poipole Candies, 803 XP
