PSA: This Sims 4 Glitch Is Making Sims Grow Old Too Quickly

It's like an M. Night Shyamalan twist.

You’d think growing old too fast — within minutes — is something that stays within the confines of a movie like M. Night’s Old, but that’s now the reality of an unexpected glitch in The Sims 4. Following yesterday’s free patch (which introduced sexual orientations, a new phone interface, curved walls, and more), players have logged in to the newly updated game to find their Sims aging up way too quickly rather than waiting for their respective birthdays.

Young adult sims are speeding towards midlife crises and toddlers are becoming children way too early. It’s a bit of a mess, and it’s pretty wide spread.

Good news, though. EA and Maxis are aware of the issue, and are investigating a fix. In the meantime, they suggest using new saves within the default or normal lifespan until the problem is resolved, since the glitch is mostly affecting players using short and long lifespans. Turning off aging completely should also prevent the problem.

It’s not the only glitch, either. Players that own the Get Famous expansion pack are noticing that random Sims in their worlds are becoming instantly famous for no apparent reason.
