The Fortnite Destiny 2 skins are a reality, announced during today’s Destiny 2 Showcase 22 livestream. The collaboration between Bungie and Epic games includes characters Zavala, Ikora, and Exo Stranger as in-game outfits. In addition, the game is debuting in the Epic Games store later today as Season of the Plunder kicks off, and players will receive the 30th Anniversary DLC as a welcoming gift.
The outfits will become available in Fortnite‘s store later tonight on August 23, and include a series of cosmetics. This is the first time we’ve seen Bungie collaborating with Epic’s battle royale, and it seems like they’ve chosen the right characters to start properly. You can find the details below:
The Commander Zavala outfit includes the following items:
- Targe back bling: Commander Zavala’s Ghost (included with the Commander Zavala outfit)
- Crown-Splitter pickaxe: “Our enemies think themselves gods and kings. Show them the error of their ways”
- Sparrow glider: Vehicle used for transportation across land (or in Fortnite, air transportation). Comes with the Zavala Shader style fit for Commander Zavala
The Ikora Rey outfit includes the following items:
- Ophiuchus back bling: Ikora Rey’s Ghost (included with the Ikora Rey outfit)
- Black Talon pickaxe: “Our enemies think themselves gods and kings. Show them the error of their ways”
- Sparrow glider: Vehicle used for transportation across land (or in Fortnite, air transportation). Comes with the Ikora Shader style fit for Ikora Rey
The Exo Stranger outfit includes the following items:
- Pouka back bling: Commander Zavala’s Ghost (included with the Exo Stranger outfit)
- The Lament pickaxe: “Our enemies think themselves gods and kings. Show them the error of their ways”
- Sparrow glider: Vehicle used for transportation across land (or in Fortnite, air transportation). Comes with the Exo Stranger Shader style fit for the Exo Stranger
There is also an Investigate Emote that will be available separately, in case you want to show off your new Ghost.
If you’re a Destiny 2 player instead of a Fortnite player, the collaboration is also arriving at the Tower and beyond. There are three new armor sets, one for each of the classes (Titan, Warlock, and Hunter).
It’s an interesting prospect to see this collaboration happening, and honestly, it feels as the most grounded we’ve had in a while. There’s an ongoing Dragon Ball event happening in Fortnite as we speak. Jump into any match of Battle Royale or Creative and you’re likely to stumble upon members of the X-Men, Darth Vader, characters from Netflix’s Arcane (such as Vi, which is apparently the only outfit I’m going to be using for the foreseeable future), and that’s only the tip of the iceberg.

As collaborations continue to grow over time, who knows what will come next. Maybe will see the Drifter next time, but aside from speculations, it’s likely that we’ll be seeing more characters in the future. Who would you want to see added next as part of the Fortnite Destiny 2 skins?
