We, the editorial staff of Fanbyte.com, stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine against apartheid, genocide, and oppression. We stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine and the Palestinian diaspora against our own governments’ military aid to Israel and enabling of the consistent erosion of Palestinian sovereignty.
It’s difficult for us, the staff of a video game and culture website (who do predominately light-hearted writing), to word this statement. We’re experts on Destiny 2 and the lore history of Sonic the Hedgehog, not geopolitics.
But we don’t need to be geopolitics experts to recognize that human rights abuse is human rights abuse. And Israel’s human rights abuses, from the unlivable conditions in the Gaza Strip to right-wing fanatics forcing Palestinians from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah, cannot be ignored. The IDF’s relentless bombing and violence against a people with no military cannot be ignored. The harassment and violence against worshippers trying to celebrate Eid at Al-Aqsa cannot be ignored.
