Visor mods are a new addition Spider-Man: Miles Morales has brought to the table. They’re unlockable mods that give you bonus abilities/benefits in combat. While everyone is probably going to play their Miles a bit differently, here are our picks for the best Visor Mods, based on how much versatility and utility they lend to combat.
S Tier Visor Mods
Optic Triangulation: “On scan marks enemies through walls and keeps them marked as long as stealth mode remains active.” This mod basically makes it so you can see where every enemy is at all times, even through walls. It makes crowd control and enemy management a breeze.
Residual Venom: “Energy left behind after a successful Venom attack becomes visible and can be absorbed on contact to generate more Venom Power.” This mod makes Venom regen a no-brainer, which is extra handy considering your Venom bar can be used for supercharged attacks, and to heal up when you’re in a tight spot.
Eyes In The Back of My Head: “Auto-activates Camouflage immediately before detection during stealth encounters.”
A Tier Visor Mods
Reclaimer: “Replenishes one gadget ammo when performing a melee Stealth Takedown on an enemy.” This mod unlocks with the Purple Reign suit. While not quite as cool as some of the previous mods, it’s definitely handy when going through stealth encounters. If you’re using remote mines, or even webs, your stock can run low pretty quickly. Having a mod that helps you replenish via a takedown method that’s both convenient and vital is pretty rad.
Venom Overclock: “Venom Power generation increases as health drops.” Like Residual Venom, this one comes in handy when you’re getting your ass handed to you. It can also be used to turn the tables with some powerful Venom attacks, or to save your bacon before you die.
Threat Sensors: “Temporarily slows time after a perfect dodge.” This mod only unlocks with New Game+. Getting that little bit of extra time to decide on your next move after nailing a perfect dodge can be extremely clutch in tight situations.
Ghost Strike: “Enemies can no longer hear Web-Strike Takedowns while Camouflaged.” This one is pretty self-explanatory, but being able to up your stealth game by making your Camouflage even quieter is definitely useful.
B Tier Visor Mods
Eyes on Target: “On scan, connects a line from an enemy to all other enemies that can currently see them.” This one sounds cooler than it actually is in practice. While it’s nice to be able to see lines of sight while trying to plan out your take down of a hideout, the field of view is pretty limited. Personally I found Optical Triangulation to be more useful overall.
Perfect Sight: “Increases the window for perfect dodging.” While not quite as useful as Threat Sensors’ time slowing ability, having a little more time to sneak a perfect dodge in is never a bad thing!
An Eye For Supplies: “Increases the drop rate for gadget ammo.” Personally, I prefer Reclaimer just because there’s a tangible condition for gadget ammo refills, but increasing the drop rate overall doesn’t hurt either!
Untrackable: “Decreases damage from ranged attacks by 25%.” Making bullets and lasers hurt a bit less is nothing to sneeze at, though other mods give you more versatility in how you can play.
Meh Tier Visor Mods
Trick Master: “Gain bonus Venom Power for performing Air Tricks.” This one unlocks with the Brooklyn Visions Academy suit. I just never really had much use for this one. There are way better mods to help with your Venom regen that don’t require messing around with wonky aerial tricks.
Bam! Pow! Wham!: “Use this mod to peer into the Spider-Verse and visualize combat sound effects as they appear on a different Earth!” This one is a pre-order bonus and is fun, but honestly not that useful. Don’t waste a mod slot.
