If you want to survive this world overrun by evil farming machines then you will need to find the Mechanic Station so you can craft better gear. In Scrap Mechanic, you will need to restore power to both your ship and gas station via Master Batteries. These items are hidden in nearby locations and are the only way to restore power to these facilities. Thankfully, getting them is pretty easy since their location doesn’t change, despite the world having a huge element of randomness to it. You’ll want to prioritize getting these batteries since it will open up far more crafting options than what you have at the start.
Crashed Ship Master Battery Location
The first Master Battery can be found outside the crashed ship in the nearby ruined building. When you gain control, head across the scorched rubble towards the large structure towering over you. Take the stairs up and make sure to pick up the blue bucket on the way! Now fight your way through the robots until you reach the top of the tower. You should see parts of your ship on fire on a balcony overlooking the first below. Lodged in this rubble is the Master Battery, which you can approach and pick up by holding down Left Mousebutton.
Now head back to your ship, but don’t go inside right away. Instead (when facing your ship), take a left towards the tranquil pond where the farming tutorial sign is. Grab the second blue bucket and fill them both up with water. Return to your ship and use the water from the buckets to put out the fire.
You can now slot the Master Battery into the power source and use the crafting station to make your first car.

Mechanic Station Master Battery Location
The second Master Battery can be found right by the large Mechanic Station that you’ll discover along the main road. Just keep walking on the road until you see a massive wrench sign and large gas station. Once you arrive, you should see three cylinder-shaped structures to the right of the station. Go inside the one with the big number 2 on it and kill the Farmbot inside.
You will need to use your hammer to bash open the door, they don’t just open by walking into them. The Mastery Battery should be on the floor in the back by the bunkbeds. Before you go into the station, consider sleeping on the bed right by the battery. Doing so will change this to your new spawn location if you die, which is pretty helpful. Now just go into the Mechanic Station and put the battery into the open slot. Doing so will automatically restore power to the rest of the building, letting you craft a variety of critical robots that can be an absolute lifesaver.
Now, you can get back to cowering in the dark awaiting your eventual demise at the hand of angry, farming robots!
