Official MLB The Show 21 Team Rankings
All of these are pretty self-explanatory. Speed is a measure of how fast the players can run when fielding or base-running. Contact is how good they are at getting hits. Power is what determines how well they can swing for the fences. The rest is super obvious. Pitching is how well their entire pitching crew ranks compared to the other teams and defense is how well their players field. That’s it!\

But What’s the Actual Best Team?
One thing you may have noticed is the numbers don’t entirely match up. The New York Mets, for example, are ranked eight overall despite having awful stats. There are two possibilities here. The first is that there’s somewhat of an opinion built into here based on real world performance. The second, which we think is more likely, is the numbers aren’t weighted equally. How much do these affect actual performance? We don’t know for sure.
We can, however, tell you that the rankings look like this if you average out each of the main skills. If these do actually have an impact the Mets and Milwaukee Brewers are overrated and fall out of the top ten. Lower down the field the Angels and Twins also drop at least five positions each. It also shows the Tampa Bay Rays jumping from 15th to eighth! The Colorado Rockies also climb from one of the bottom teams in the league to firmly in the top half at 11th. Take this as you will. It’s not science or backed up by actual performance in the game. But if the numbers EA assigned to each team actually matters, this is the true ranking by best overall stats.
