TFT 7.5 is coming soon, here's how to play Lagoon, one of its best comps.

Hark, Summoner! TFT 7.5 Uncharted Dragonlands is live on PBE, and coming to main servers soon. It brings a lot of new traits, and some of them are confusing. Don’t worry though, we got you covered on the best ways to build out your TFT 7.5 Lagoon comps, with best in slot items and the strongest synergies. Keep our guide open while you play your games and you’re sure to get a leg-up on the other Little Legends out there.

What Does the Lagoon TFT Trait Do?

This trait thrives on being placed and kept on your board from early game, giving plenty of loot and AP-focused buffs.

From the tooltip: Lagoon units gain bonus Ability Power and Attack Speed. A Seastone appears on the board that grants loot as Lagoon units cast abilities over time. Lagoon activates and upgrades with 3/6/9/12

3 Lagoon units grants the player 8 ability power + 8% attack speed.

6 Lagoon units grants the player 30 ability power + 30% attack speed.

9 Lagoon units grants the player 70 ability power +70% attack speed.

12 Lagoon units grants the player 200 ability power + 200% attack speed

What are the Lagoon TFT Units?

They are all League of Legends champions you know and love, with a Pool Party-esque theme to them. You’re able to craft a Lagoon crest with a glove and a spatula if you’d like to add to this list.

The Lagoon units in 7.5 are:

Malphite – Bruiser/Lagoon – 1 cost

Taliyah – Mage/Lagoon – 1 cost

Kai’sa – Dragonmancer/Lagoon – 2 cost (A potential carry)

Zac – Guardian/Lagoon – 2 cost

Seraphine – Mystic/Evoker/Lagoon – 3 cost

Zeri (LET’S GO) – Cannoneer/Lagoon – 3 cost

Nilah – Assassin/Lagoon – 4 cost (A potential carry)

Sohm (A new unit model, specifically for TFT!) – Dragon/Mage/Lagoon – 7 cost (A potential carry)

Here is a potential level 8 board you can aim for.

Best Augments for Lagoon Comp

Oasis is definitely the best Lagoon augment; the heal + shield + cleanse is busted. Lagoon excels if you’re casting quickly with more units, so any of the Emblem/Heart/Crown augments that grant you an honorary water pal. Here are the best augments for Lagoon:

  • High Tide: Lagoon champions start combat with 30% reduced attack speed but gain 12 mana per second. Then, after they cast twice, their stats go back to normal. You also get a Kai’Sa.
  • Oasis: Any time that a Lagoon champions gets a shield, they cleanse themselves of all negative effects and heal 20% of their missing health.
  • Lagoon Heart: You get a Kai’Sa and your team counts as having one more Lagoon unit.
  • Lagoon Crest: Gain a Lagoon Emblem and a Zac.
  • Lagoon Crown: You get a Lagoon Emblem, a Spear of Shojin, and a Zeri.
  • Blue Battery: After casting their Ability, set the caster’s Mana to 20.

Best Items for Lagoon TFT Comp

For your Lagoon carry best in slot items, you’ll want one Mana-refilling and two damage items on your carries. Here is a pool (lol) of potential options:

  • Archangel’s Staff
  • Chalice of Power (Aura) (Put this on whoever is next to your carry!)
  • Giant Slayer
  • Morellonomicon (Unique)
  • Rabadon’s Deathcap
  • Statikk Shiv

For your tanks, the best in slot build is a lot more flexible:

  • Ionic Spark (Aura)
  • Sunfire Cape (Unique)
  • Thief’s Gloves
  • Zz’Rot Portal
  • Gargoyle Stoneplate
  • Warmog’s Armor
  • Protector’s Vow

What Comps Counter Lagoon?

Assassins counter Lagoon simply because they can jump to the backline and kill your Sohm or Kai’Sa carry with ease.

Mystics counter Lagoon because of their innate Magic Resist buff, so it’s best to build some magic penetration for these cases.

A strong late-game Cavaliers board also counters Lagoon with their built in Magic Resist-ful dashes.
