Assassin’s Creed Ezio and Eivor Took The Wrong Animus To Fortnite

Seems everything is permitted for Epic's battle royale.

Assassin’s Creed own Ezio Auditore and Eivor Varinsdottir are now part of Fortnite‘s multiverse. Announced earlier today by developer Epic, the characters from the Ubisoft series are officially joining the likes of Spider-Man and Marshmello later on this week, each with their own pickaxe and costume alternatives, as well as emotes and thematic item bundles.

Both Ezio and Eivor will be available in the Fortnite shop starting April 7 at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET. While the V-Buck costs haven’t been disclosed, past collaborations such as Ariana Grande or Vi from Netflix’s Arcane landed somewhere around the 2,000 V-Bucks price range, which equals to $20 USD. This depends on whether you opt for just the character and the items that come with it, or also the plethora of additional items included in bundles.

In the case of Ezio, who was the lead on Assassin’s Creed 2Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed Revelations, purchasing the skin includes an alternative look with his hood down, as well as an emote and a Hidden Blade pickaxe, which is rad.

Fortnite Assassin's Creed 2

As for Eivor from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, there is a wider range of items available. The skin comes with the Shield back bling, as well as the Raven Clan pickaxe that has her wielding two handaxes, the latter which also includes the Eivor’s Axes alternative style. Such as Ezio, you can opt to have the hood up or down.

In addition, there’ll be a Wolf-Kissed Longboat glider available separately, as well as the Viking War Cry emote if you have any (or both) of Eivor’s signature weapons equipped.

In summary, you can purchase either of the skins, as well as weapons or the glider separately. But the Fortnite Assassin’s Creed collaboration also includes the Tales from the Animus Bundle, which packs everything together and throws in an extra few goodies: the Wolf-Kissed spray, Raven Clan emoticon, a banner, and Eivor’s Fury loading screen.

Fortnite Assassin's Creed 5

This Fortnite Assassin’s Creed collab is definitely interesting, although it doesn’t come as a big surprise considering that no IP seems to be safe from ending up in Fortnite to some extent. I would have liked to see more items available for Ezio, as I have fond memories of Assassin’s Creed 2 — a game I used to play at 800×600 at the lowest graphical settings possible on an old PC and still enjoyed dearly. But honestly, the Hidden Blade pickaxe speaks for itself.

As for what it means to see Assassin’s Creed in Fortnite, well, that’s up for debate. Fanbyte’s news editor Imran Khan is afraid about the prospect of Fortnite becoming too difficult if “you have to drop a rose on everybody’s body and say Requiscat in Pace,” while editor in chief Danielle Riendeau shared some words of wisdom: “Ezio, you’re a mess-io”. If you ask me, I’m just glad that female Eivor is taking the helm, as she didn’t even got her own fucking Funko Pop last year.
