All 7 New Pokemon in Pokemon: Legends Arceus

Some additions to Who's That Pokemon?

If you were hoping Pokemon Legends: Arceus would come with anything resembling a new slate of Pokemon, we have some bad news for you. The latest game in the franchise comes with only seven new Pokemon with the remaining 235 either returning from previous games or debuting with new Hisuian versions, but still being the same Pokemon. If you just want to get your hands on the latest and greatest, this guide will tell you all about them and where to catch them.

Note: This guide is currently a work in progress.

Wyrdeer

Stantler fans, rejoice! After 22 years, our caribou friend finally has an evolution. From what we’ve seen in gameplay, at some point you unlock the ability to ride Wyrdeer around the Hisui region, making traversal easier. To get your Stantler to evolve, you need the Psyshield Bash move first. After that, just use the ability 20 times while in Agile Style.

  • Type: Normal/Psychic
  • Evolves From: Stantler
  • How: Use Psyshield Bash 20 times in Agile Style
  • Moves:
    • Level 1: Tackle
    • Level 5: Confusion
    • Level 9: Hypnosis
    • Level 15: Calm Mind
    • Level 21: Psyshield Bash
    • Level 29: Extrasensory
    • Level 37: Zen Headbutt
    • Level 47: Double-Edge
  • Signature Move: Psyshield Bash – Cloaking itself in psychic energy, the user slams into the target. This may also raise the user’s defensive stats.

Kleavor

If Kleavor reminds you of a certain first generation bug Pokemon, you aren’t wrong. Kleavor is the second evolution of Scyther! We don’t yet know if it functions similarly to Scizor who only comes about when you trade Scyther holding a Metal Coat. You’ll need an item this time too, but the good news is Arceus has completely eliminated the need to actually trade the Pokemon. Once you have both the item and the Pokemon you want to evolve, you can simply evolve it yourself. These Black Augurites drop from Geodudes and Gravelers, so keep an eye out!

  • Type: Bug/Rock
  • Evolves From: Scyther
  • Item Required: Black Augurites
  • Moves:
    • Level 1: Quick Attack (Normal)
    • Level 6: Silver Wind (Bug)
    • Level 11: Aerial Ace (Flying)
    • Level 14: Double Hit (Normal)
    • Level 14: Stealth Rock (Rock)

    • Level 34: X-Scissor (Bug)

  • Signature Move: Stone Axe – The user swings its stone axes at the target, aiming to land a critical hit. Stone splinters left behind by this attack continue to damage the target for several turns.

Ursaluna

Be in the Crimson Mirelands and use a Peat Block during a full moon to get Ursaring to evolve into Ursaluna.

Basculegion

Aside from having one of the best introductions ever, Basculegion is yet another new evolution introduced in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Notice a pattern here? Just like Basculin before it, there appear to be two different versions of this Pokemon so you need to get both if you want to complete your collection. For Basculin to evolve, you need to have it deal around 275 total damage to itself through recoil damage. We recommend using moves like Double Edge or Wave Crasher. According to leaks, you can get the white stripe version of Basculegion by using Wave Crasher ten times with the required style varying depending on gender.

  • Type: Water/Ghost
  • Evolves From: Basculin
  • How: Take 250-300 total recoil damage. (Tip: Use Double Edge or Wave Crasher).
  • Stripe Version: Use Wave Crasher ten times in Agile Style (Male) or Wave Crasher ten times in Strong style (Female).
