The newest season of Fortnite features Darth Vader and Indiana Jones, bringing even more licensed properties into the toybox world of the battle royale shooter. But there are still plenty more characters from the big and small screens that would be fun to play as. Here are ten movie characters I’d like to see added to Fornite.
1. Hudson (Aliens)
They already have the Alien and Ellen Ripley, so why not take the natural next step and add characters from Aliens? Hudson, portrayed by Bill Paxton, is a fan favorite, and his classic quote “Game over, man!” would fit right in.
2. Bill “The Extreme” Harding (Twister)
Fortnite has a roving tornado in the game now, and who better to deal with it than storm chaser extraordinaire Bill Harding from Twister? As a personal aside, after seeing Twister, I became irrationally afraid of tornadoes despite growing up in an area where they were basically unheard of. I guess I was just an extremely anxious kid. But yeah, let’s get The Extreme in Fortnite!
3. Morgan Earp (Tombstone) — Fortnite Characters
There have been cowboy and western-themed characters in Fortnite before, but let’s get some named characters from classic films in here. With Tombstone, you might go for Wyatt Earp or Doc Holliday, but I’m thinking Morgan Earp — played by Bill Paxton — would be a great choice.
4. ‘Dinky’ Winks (Spy Kids 2)
While I’m on the cowboy thing, how about we bring in a character from Robert Rodriguez’ Spy Kids series? No, I’m not talking about those awful Thumb Thumbs — I mean ‘Dinky’ Winks, the owner of Troublemakers theme park! Everybody loves Spy Kids!
5. Brock Lovett (Titanic)
He found that nude drawing Jack did of Rose in the wreck of the Titanic, but could Brock Lovett find a Victory Royale? There’s only one way to find out!
6. Bill Henrickson (Big Love) — Fortnite Characters
Big Love is one of the best American television series about religion. But Bill Henrickson could get a big dub if he appeared in Fortnite. I mean, the man’s already used to managing a bunch of spouses at once, so being in a battle royale game would probably come pretty naturally to him.
7. Fred Haise (Apollo 13)
Fred Haise is a real astronaut who’s still around, being one of only 24 people to have ever flown to the moon. He was actually going to be the sixth person to walk on the moon, but the Apollo 13 mission — as dramatized in the movie of the same name — was aborted midflight. His enemies, not Houston, are going to be the ones who have a problem when Haise hits Tilted Towers.
8. Severen (Near Dark)
Before Kathryn Bigelow made movies almost exclusively about the military and police, she directed Near Dark, a haunting southwestern vampire tale. Bill Paxton steals the show as psychopathic bloodsucker Severen, whose menacing chemistry with the protagonist carries the film into its final act. Similarly, he could easily carry any round of Fortnite to its logical conclusion — him having blown up and dismembered all of the Jonesys and Peelys.
9. Chet Donnelly (Weird Science) — Fortnite Characters
Fortnite has characters who can transform, so it could feature bullying brother Chet Donnelly from Weird Science in both his normal, human form as well as the horrific blob shape he is briefly cursed with near the end of the film. Wouldn’t that be fun?
10. Sheriff (Video for “Eat You Alive” by Limp Bizkit)
Did you know Bill Paxton was in a Limp Bizkit music video? Huh!
