Vampire Survivors Giovanna Guide - Where to Find the Inlaid Library Coffin

Au revoir, Giovanna!

2022 hasn’t seen the last of Vampire Survivors, which continues to morph and evolve during Early Access. The latest update adds a new gameplay mechanic called Arcanas, as well as a new character to find. This guide explains everything you need to know about Vampire Survivors Giovanna, including how to unlock her and the default abilities.

Where to Find the Coffin in the Inlaid Library – Vampire Survivors Giovanna

In order to unlock Giovanna in Vampire Survivors, you need to find the coffin in the Inlaid Library stage. This is easier said than done, but there is one simple rule: keep heading east until you stumble upon the coffin.

You might remember this method from the Stone Mask, and it still rings true. As you make your way toward the coffin, you’ll inevitably stumble upon the Stone Mask as well, which is also an indicator that you’re moving in the right direction. Inlaid Library is a fairly straightforward stage in terms of structure, but it’s also hard to navigate when mobs surround you towards the corridor corners.

Oh hey, Stone Mask.

In a similar fashion, you will see enemies surrounding the coffin — take them down and interact with it to add the mighty Vampire Survivors Giovanna to your roster. As per usual, you can either continue with your run or exit to the main menu to select Giovanna and start a new one.

That’s pretty much it! I recommend having patience with this one — in one particular run, I spent almost 24 minutes heading east and I still hadn’t found the coffin. While I did stop in place a couple of times to farm a few kills, that should give you an estimate of how long it can take depending on your character’s movement speed.

Vampire Survivors Giovanna – Abilities and Gatti Amari

In Vampire Survivors, Giovanna Grana introduces herself as a cool witch riding a broom. After you’ve unlocked her by opening the coffin, it’s going to cost you 1,000 gold to be able to use her.

She has +20% movement speed, and as a passive trait, the character gains +1% projectile speed at every level. There is no cap for this, which means you can keep increasing it as you gain more levels. That being said, it’s just 1% per level, so it will take some time until you have a solid foundation.

As for Giovanna’s starting weapon, the Gatti Amari is a peculiar one. The weapon spawns cats (yeah!) on the edges of the screen, who then roam around mostly in a straight line and have a chance of attacking enemies that come near them. Plus, they can consume pickups, which then leads to some unexpected results. I’m not sure if I would recommend Giovanna as a character if you’re only starting out, but if you’re one of the people who unlocked everything before this update, this is certainly a welcoming change of pace.
