Unlock the True Ending of Persona 5 Royal With the Best Akechi Confidant Choices

Akechi is a famous boy detective and Confidant in Persona 5 Royal. Returning fans will remember him from the original game! They’ll also notice that things work a little differently this time. You can spend a lot more time with the long-haired prince — and much earlier in the game. In fact, it’s very important that you do. The new Akechi Confidant line unlocks the new, true ending of Persona 5 Royal. That’s why you want to know all the best choices for making him like you more right out the gate! And we’ve got a list of each dialogue answer for Akechi right here.

Note: In addition, this guide assumes you always hang out with Akechi with a Justice Arcana Persona in your inventory. this will give you bonus points with him every time you talk and spend time together. Goro Akechi is not a new character or Confidant in Persona 5 Royal. However, he has a brand new (and missable) Confidant quest that you unlock fairly early in the game. You have a fair bit of time to get through his dialogue sessions, but be warned: the Akechi Confidant line unlocks the true ending of Persona 5 Royal.

This is a fairly common addition in Shin Megami Tensei game remakes. However, Persona 5 Royal doesn’t telegraph this fact at all. In order to see the new, true ending of Persona 5 Royal you must reach Rank 8 with Akechi before Nov. 17 of the first school year. That makes getting through his conversation choices especially important!

This guide will lay out the best, or most “impactful” choices for every dialogue option you can select when you speak to Akechi. Doing so will make his quest line quicker and more efficient.

Note: “Phone call at Leblanc” means just that — as a reminder that these choices always still matter.

Akechi Conversation 1, Rank 0 → 1 – Persona 5 Royal Justice Arcana

As with most Confidants, you’ll meet Akechi for the first time as part of the story. And unlike in the original game, he has a mostly optional quest line! This one begins on June 10. From then on you can hang out with him (mostly in Kichijoji) on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Occasionally he’ll also show up on different days and invite you to hang out with him directly. But this first rank, where your answers have no gameplay relevance, happens automatically.
