The Solstice of Heroes event has returned to Destiny 2 and that means there’s new armor sets to chase. Similar to last year, players will unlock a set of blue armor gear that they can wear and upgrade by completing various activities. Ranging from just killing enemies to completing runs of the returning EAZ (European Aerial Zone) to obtaining wins in Destiny 2’s most challenging PVP mode. All of this gear culminates in the Magnificent tier set, which is not only masterworked but comes with a white armor glow. Players can then purchase their elemental armor glow at Eververse to turn this set into a Universal Ornament.
Keep in mind, to actually upgrade the gear you will need to not only wear it, but complete the entire set. When you land, speak with Eva and she will give you the Rare helmet. Put this on and then head over to the console on the right to initiate the EAZ. Go through this activity once and then speak to Eva at The Tower. She’ll progress the quest for you, asking your Guardian to meditate in front of the large statue next to her. Do this and you’ll earn the rest of the Renewed armor. Now slap that fashion disaster of an armor set on and begin grinding through the listed quest steps. Once the entire see its gone, return to the statue and meditate again to obtain the next tier.

The key to completing these sets is being efficient with your time so you can tackle multiple objectives at once. For example, if you’re on a Warlock you can complete the 600 Strike Playlist kills, 300 Solar Orbs collected in Playlist Strikes, and 200 combatants killed at the same time. Always look at your gear and think about how you can maximize your progress across multiple pieces of armor. A lot of these seem as if they’re a grind, but you shouldn’t have too much trouble since most of the tasks are very easy. Just remember, weapons like Hardlight and Borealis can change their elemental types, making them perfect for this event.
Additionally, Solstice of Heroes runs until September 8, so you have almost a full month to complete these armor sets. Don’t try to push yourself right as the event launches, as you have a ton of time to reach the Magnificent tier. This is also a great time to complete a bunch of your Moments of Triumph, so if you want that title make sure to try and complete those tasks as well.
Destiny 2’s Solstice of Heroes begins tomorrow August 11 and runs until September 8 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
