Mortal Kombat 11’s first major expansion, Aftermath, dropped yesterday and it’s continuing the where the main game’s campaign left off. Along with a bunch of new story content, MK11 introduces three new fighters for players to learn and master. These are the fearsome Sheeva, 80’s action icon RoboCop, Raiden’s brother, the Wind God himself, Fujin. The latter has a prominent role in the new Aftermath story, so you’ll quickly become intimately familiar with this character. Similar to other fighters in Mortal Kombat 11, Fujin has two Fatalities that you can use to slice up your opponents, so don’t worry about needing to obtain or grind for them.

How to Perform Fujin’s Fatalities
Before we dive into the Wind God’s finishing moves, we need to go over the numerical shorthand we will be using. Since Mortal Kombat 11 is available on Xbox, PS4, PC, and Switch, every button input is slightly different. Because of that, we will be using a trick the fighting game community has developed that reduces confusion regardless of what system you play on. Here’s a quick breakdown of what each button prompt corresponds to in MK11:
- 1 – X (Xbox One) / Square (PS4) / Y (Switch)
- 2 – Y (Xbox One) / Triangle (PS4) / X (Switch)
- 3 – A (Xbox One) / X (PS4) / B (Switch)
- 4 – B (Xbox One) / Circle (PS4) / A (Switch)
Thankfully, we won’t be going over any big combos, so you won’t need to consult this shorthand often. This will just simply and remove any frustration when trying to perform a Fatality. Additionally, where Fujin stands also matters, so we will mention at the end of the input string whether your distance from the opponent needs to be close, medium, or far away. These button commands will be under the assumption that your fight is position on the left side of the screen and your opponent is on the right.
- Wind Blade – Back, Down, Down, Back, 1 (Far)
- Twisted Twister – Forward, Back, Down, 2 (Close)
Alternatively, you can use a Fatality Token to trivialize this mechanic and reduce the number of buttons you have to press. For Wind Blade, just hold down the Block button and press 3, while Twisted Twister requires you to hold the Block button and hit 4. Doing so will instantly consume a Fatality Token and perform your finisher of choice. This is great if you have trouble remembering the button commands or are simply worried that you can’t do the movements before the Fatality timer expires.
Finally, you’ll notice when you look up Fujin’s moves for the first time that Twisted Twister is actually locked. While you can find this Fatality in the Krypt, you can actually just force it to unlock by performing this move in Fatality Training. Go to this mode under the Learn tab and perform a Twisted Twister on your foe. Doing so will instantly unlock it, making it easier to reference and use in the future. Now that you’ve mastered the easy part of playing Fujin, it’s time to get out there and start practicing your combos!
