Kasumi Yoshizawa is a new playable character in Persona 5 Royal — as well as the Faith Arcana Confidant. Despite not joining your party for dozens of hours, you actually gain access to her conversations pretty early in the game! And unlike Maruki, who raises your maximum SP, Kasumi raises your max hit points. And Persona 5 players coming back to Royal for their second or third playthrough will definitely want her on their side And if you’re just playing the game for the first time, his help will still make your battles much easier! That’s why we’ve provided a guide to the most efficient dialogue with Kasumi in Persona 5 Royal, so you can level up your Faith Personas with ease.
Note: this guide assumes you have a Faith Persona in your roster when going to speak with Kasumi. That will award you more efficient progress for every dialogue option. Kasumi Yoshizawa is a new character and Confidant in Persona 5 Royal. As such, you might not even know where or when to find her! That’s okay. You’ll meet her for the first time as part of the story. Just to be safe, though, know that she usually hangs out at Kichijoji mostly on Wednesdays. That means you need to spend a little cash to hang out with her — unless she sends you a text. If you reply to her that way (or to any Confidant for that matter) Persona 5 Royal will waive the cost your train to the specified location.
Kasumi has a couple quirks that differentiate her from most NPCs don’t, too. You’ll notice early on that her Confidant level only goes to Rank 5 for much of the game. You can only go past Rank 5 starting after Dec. 22. More importantly, you must get Kasumi to Rank 4 before Dec. 22. Otherwise the rest of her plot line won’t be available. Furthermore, you must complete Rank 5 before Jan. 13. It’s a lot of hoops to jump through, so be careful!
Note: “Phone call at Leblanc” means just that — as a reminder that these choices always still matter.
Kasumi Conversation 1, Rank 0 → 1 – Persona 5 Royal Faith Arcana
The first conversation with Kasumi works like most of the others in Persona 5 Royal. None of your choices “matter” to your overall progress. You’ll speak to Kasumi and unlock her as a Rank 1 Confidant without any trouble. From then on, however, make sure to bring a Persona of the Faith Arcana. That will boost your efficiency considerably.
