So you want to level up Hu Tao? Genshin Impact requires a ton of resource gathering if you want to ascend character and skill levels. However, some are far easier than others. Silk Flower is one of those resources that’s easy to gather because the nodes are tightly packed, but there are very few of them in the world. Here’s where to find Silk Flower, how to harvest it, and what items it’s currently used for.

Where to Find the Silk Flower
If you’re looking to farm Silk Flower there are two main areas you’ll need to visit: Wangshu Inn and Liyu Harbor under the shadow of Mt. Tianheng. If this area isn’t unlocked on your map just yet, don’t worry, keep playing the story and eventually you’ll be asked to make the trek south to Liyue. The earliest location you can collect these is Wangshu Inn.
Remember, the flowers will refresh around every two to three real-world days. Because of this, I recommend hitting both areas. This is especially true considering there are only 14 total nodes! This will maximize your farm, reducing the amount of time spent waiting for them to respawn.
You can also purchase a total of ten Silk Flowers every two days from Ms. Bai (in Qingce Village) and Verr Goldet (at Wangshu Inn) who both have five available for 1,000 Mora each. That’s an incredibly cheap price point for most experienced players, so make sure you fast travel on over and familiarize yourself with the two of them.

Silk Flower Uses
At the time of publishing, Xingqiu’s and Hu Tao’s character ascension are the only way to use Silk Flowers. There are no cooking recipes or weapons that need them.
It takes 168 Silk Flowers for one character to reach Ascension 6, so I recommend you start farming early. Even if you don’t have them right now, there’s always a chance get them in a later banner. If every node respawns every two days and you also purchase the Silk Flowers from the vendors, you should have enough for one character after about two to three weeks of effort. Honestly, compared to some other characters, this is one resource that’s relatively easy to grind, there’s just a delay due to respawn times.
It’s possible that the Silk Flower will become more universally useful once another region releases. We will update our guide with any new information or if changes are made to this crafting material.
You can find our updated guide for Xingqiu here. We run down all of his abilities and explain how you want to build him including recommendations for team composition, best weapons, best artifacts, and more!
