Genshin Impact Stamina Guide - How to Increase Your Stamina

Genshin Impact is the latest free-to-play game sweeping the world thanks to the great art style, engaging combat, and rather lengthy story. Players take control of one of two twins, who is on a mission to save their sister (or brother) from the clutches of an evil god. Heavily taking inspiration from Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Genshin Impact features a stamina meter that slowly depletes as you run, climb, swim, glide, and fight enemies in its cell-shaded world. While this bar is pretty small when you first start out, you will be able to increase your stamina as you play, allowing you to venture into new areas.

How to Increase Your Stamina

To increase your stamina you will need to collect floating greenish orbs called Anemoculuses. These orbs are scattered all throughout the overworld of Genshin Impact. Typically, you will find them high in the air or hidden away somewhere. Once you find an Anemoculus, all you have to do it run into it for your character to collect this item and add it to their inventory. Currently, there are two regions in Genshin Impact, each of which has its own variation of this item. The southern area boasts 131 Geoculuses, while the starting area has 65 Anemoculuses for you to collect.

After you collect a bunch of Anemoculus, just bring them to a Statue of The Seven and select the “Worship” option. You can now submit your Anemoculuses as an offering to this god and increase your stamina. Keep in mind, you’ll need to fulfill the donation requirements of that statue which is found in the menu that appears after you select Worship. This will show you how many Anemoculus are needed to get a boost to your stamina.

While you can spend hours just running around looking for them, I strongly recommend using this interactable map. It lists the location of every Anemoculus, which can save you a ton of time when you are hunting for them. Just pull up this interactive map and then mark all the Anemoculus locations on your in-game map so you have a record of where each of them are. You can see an example of that in the photo above where every white star is an Anemoculus I haven’t discovered yet. I highly recommend doing this, especially if you’re new, as it will give you something to do as you work towards increasing your Adventure Rank.

Other Ways to Increase Your Stamina

Outside of simply hunting down Anemoculuses, there are two other ways to increase your stamina. The first is to use any specific Anemo party member that boosts your overall stamina usage. There are a few in Genshin Impact that will decrease your team’s stamina consumption which makes them great for exploration. You can check if you have a party member with this ability by looking through their traits in the character menu. This is obviously not ideal as you’ll then be forced to have this character in your party, but it can be useful if you just want to run around the world.

The other method is by cooking specific meals, which give you a temporary boost to your stamina. These are great if you’re about to fight a boss, go through a tricky dungeon, or take on a challenge that requires you to deal with a lot of enemies. Below are all the meals you can consume that will increase your stamina along with the necessary ingredients.

  • Barbatos Ratatouille – 4 Onions, 4 Potatoes, 4 Carrots
  • Cream Stew – 2 Cream, 2 Raw Meat, 2 Snapdragon
  • Lotus Seed and Bird Egg Soup – 1 Lotus Head, 1 Bird Egg, 1 Sugar
  • Northern Smoked Chicken – 1 Onion, 1 Cabbage, 1 Smoked Fowl
  • Spicy Stew – 2 Cream, 2 Raw Meat, 2 Snapdragon
  • Sticky Honey Roast – 2 Sugar, 3 Raw Meat, 3 Carrots
  • True Barbatos Ratatouille – 4 Onions, 4 Potatoes, 4 Carrots
  • Zhongyuan Chop Suey – 2 Salt, 2 Fish, 3 Flour, 3 Raw Meat

You’ll notice that two of the recipes listed have the exact same ingredients. This isn’t an accident, since the True Barbatos Ratatouille can only be cooked by Venti and the Spicy Stew can only be cooked by Barbara. This is because these meals offer superior stat bonuses than their counterparts which can be cooked by the player at any campfire. Again, you don’t have to use food other than to heal, but I highly advise that you do. Stamina can deplete very fast, so having an extra reserve in a tough fight can make a huge difference.

Of course, the best method is to just throw on some music or your favorite television show and hunt down all of the Anemoculuses. It will be time-consuming, but definitely worth the effort if you plan to stick with Genshin Impact.
