Genshin Impact Cedar Wood Guide – Cedar Tree Locations & Uses

A guide to seeing the Cedar.

As part of Genshin Impact Patch 1.5, MiHoYo has added a new housing system to the game. Obviously that comes with all of the usual features including decorating your space, collecting furniture recipes, and actually crafting things to put in your house. Those don’t just use existing resources, however. In this guide, we’ll highlight the areas where you can find Cedar wood trees.

More Genshin Impact:

Where to Find the Cedar Wood Trees

If you are looking to farm Cedar Wood you, thankfully, have more than a few locations to check out. For the most part, they’re clustered together which does make this process easier. A total of 18 can be found in the area around Dawn Winery so that’s a good place to start. Though the official Genshin map doesn’t show this, there are Cedar trees basically everywhere. There are even some within the walls of Mondstadt and all the way up the path to the Thousand Winds Temple.

To collect the wood, simply hit the trees with your melee weapons.

If the trees follow the same logic as everything else, they’ll refresh around every two real-world days. Because of this, I recommend hitting all three areas. This will maximize your farm, reducing the amount of time spent waiting for them to respawn.

Cedar Wood Uses

At the time of writing this, Cedar Wood is only used to craft furniture. There are obviously a ton of different recipes to collect and we’re working on getting info on all of them so they can be shared.

Genshin Impact Housing Requirements

Not really sure what wood is used for? Make sure you’re even eligible to take part in this new system.

  • Complete the quest A Teapot to Call Home to obtain the gadget Serenitea Pot.
  • A Teapot to Call Home Quest Unlock Criteria:
    • Adventure Rank 35 or above
    • Complete the Archon Quest, Chapter I: Act III “A New Star Approaches”

Realm Currency, Trust Rank, and Adeptal Energy

It wouldn’t be a new Genshin Impact feature without a reputation to level up. While it seems complicated, the housing system is actually relatively simple.

You’ll start off with one realm and no Trust Rank with Tubby. The first time you craft a furnishing from a recipe, you’ll earn Trust from Tubby. This means there’s an emphasis on discovering more unique recipes, rather than spamming your island with the same item over and over. Maximizing your Trust to Rank 10 will unlock all three realms.

Placing items increases the amount of Adeptal Energy your realm has. The higher this value, is the more you will passively earn Realm Currency which you can use to purchase new furniture and buildings from both Tubby and Chubby. Who’s Chubby? They’re a limited time vendor who sometimes appears in your realm with new things for you to purchase like animals and other items for your island.

In short, discovering recipes and crafting furniture both have different but distinct benefits for your home island.
