Genshin Impact Beidou Hangout Guide – Quiz Answers, Unlock All Endings

She was kind enough to give you a ride to Inazuma, and now you get to take her out on a date. Genshin Impact’s latest Hangout Event features the famous Captain Beidou. This is your chance to spend some alone time with the tough pirate, so make sure you get to do the photoshoot and uncover Beidou’s childhood story before you call it a day!

If you wish to unlock every ending in the Beidou Hangout Event “When the Crux Shines Bright,” you can use this handy guide to help you. We’ll describe the important choices to reach every possible ending (and grab all the rewards) below.

Beidou Hangout Requirements

As usual, this Hangout Event requires two Story Keys. Besides that, it’s only available to Travelers with an Adventure Rank of 30 or more and you need to have completed the full main questline in Inazuma: Omnipresence Over Mortals. 

How to Get All Beidou Hangout Endings

There are five possible outcomes to this Hangout Event. If you wish to complete all of them (and get all the rewards), you can follow the steps as described below. Note that we don’t mention every dialogue option. If a choice isn’t mentioned, that means it won’t influence the outcome of your date with the Crux Fleet Captain.

Beidou’s Hangout starts with the “A Special Guest” introduction on the pirate ship east of Guyun Stone Forest. Reaching this ship used to be quite a nuisance, as you had to climb to the top of a mountain and then fly the whole way, but Genshin Impact version 2.3 added the option to teleport directly. 

When you arrive, all you need to do is chat with the crew and Beidou will appear. From this point onwards, choices matter!

Beidou Hangout Ending 1 “Photography Class for Two” – Good

1. When Beidou apologizes on behalf of the crew, say you’re interested in the life of a sailor.
2. When guessing the other team’s name, the correct answer is “Spear of the Crux.”
3. Choose the Shield team.
4. Talk to the NPC’s. The one called “Xu Liushi” is on top of the mast. You might want to use a Windcatcher gadget or stamina food for this, as it’s quite a long climb.
5. Now you have to do Beidou’s quiz. These are the correct answers:
   • Underestimating danger.
   • To mark distances.
   • The presence of dark clouds and strong winds in opposite directions, plus white vortices in the clouds.
6. You will now start the photography class section.
7. Say: “I’ve heard there’s a fishing village near Wangshu Inn.” Choose any other option and you will fail the Hangout, so be careful.
8. Teleport to the fishing village, then choose “however you prefer” or “perhaps you can strike an epic pose.” 
9. Just take a picture of Beidou (use the Kamer gadget or the screenshot button in the main menu) and speak to her again.

Beidou Hangout Ending 2 “Flirtatious” – Neutral

1. When Beidou apologizes on behalf of the crew, say you’re interested in the life of a sailor.
2. When guessing the other team’s name, the correct answer is “Spear of the Crux.”
3. Choose the Shield team.
4. Talk to the NPC’s. The one called “Xu Liushi” is on top of the mast. You might want to use a Windcatcher gadget or stamina food for this, as it’s quite a long climb.
5. Now you have to do Beidou’s quiz. These are the correct answers:

8. Teleport to the fishing village, then choose “Maybe go for something a little… flirtatious?” 

Beidou Hangout Ending 3 “Once Everything is Over” – Neutral

1. When Beidou apologizes on behalf of the crew, say you’re interested in the life of a sailor.
2. When guessing the other team’s name, the correct answer is “Spear of the Crux.”
3. Choose the Spear team, or choose Shield again but fail Beidou’s quiz (pick the wrong answers).
4. If you choose Spear, you need to board the Skirmish Boat for a timed challenge.
   • You’ll get two minutes to complete the challenge. Use your stamina to sprint, and make sure to collect the small yellow orbs to replenish your stamina.
   • You need 13 Wavesplitter Insignias to win. These are the large golden coins you’ll find along the route.
   • Hit all the location markers (blue icons) to unlock the next part of the challenge. 
   • Shooting the Hilichurls is optional.
   • When you reach the upwards wind current, hold space to leave the Skirmish Boat and use your glider the rest of the way.
5. Fast travel to Liyue Harbor, then follow Beidou as she speaks with the three fishmongers.
6. Fast travel to the Teleport Waypoint in Guyun Stone Forest, then talk to Mr. Iron Abacus.
7. Accompany Beidou to the indicated location.

Beidou Hangout Ending 4 “Sakura Blooms Upon Guili Fell” – Good

1. When Beidou apologizes on behalf of the crew, say you should be thanking the crew for taking you to Inazuma.
2. When Beidou shows you the treasure map, say it looks like Guili Plains.
3. Fast travel and interact with the group of Treasure Hoarders. 
4. Complete the following steps:
   • When you see the three “strange rocks,” destroy them. 
   • Go to the next location, defeat the Hilichurls, and click “investigate.” 
   • Listen to Golden Alligator’s poem. As Beidou repeats it, you’ll see a landscape with a tree on the left. It has red leaves and is growing almost horizontally from the rocks behind it. This is where you need to go next.
5. Run towards the strange tree, climb the rocks, and look for a half-hidden chest on the ground. Then just press “dig.”

Beidou Hangout Ending 5 “Between Us” – Good

1. When Beidou apologizes on behalf of the crew, say you should be thanking the crew for taking you to Inazuma.
2. When Beidou shows you the treasure map, say it looks like Qingce Village.
3. Help out the villagers (just talking and following the location markers).
4. After being invited to the banquet, you need to set your in-game timer to any time between 21:00 and 24:00.   
5. Just continue talking to Beidou to open the treasure chest.

What Are Hangout Events?

MiHoYo describes Hangout Events as “choice-driven Story Quests.” Put simply, these are like visual novels or a Choose Your Own Adventure style system.

Each Hangout Event requires two story keys to unlock. Once you do so, however, you can replay the Hangout as many times as you’d like, searching for different endings.

During the Hangout, you’ll need to make choices between different dialogue options as the event progresses. Each character has a Heartbeat Value that you need to keep track of. Let the five hearts drop to zero, and your Hangout may end in failure.

All of the possible story points you can experience is tracked in a quest progression map so you can see where your decisions have changed things. You can even select specific nodes and jump to that point in the story. There’s no reason you have to start the entire Hangout over again each time. The game also provides a brief explanation of that point so you can jog your memory.

Is This a Romance System?

Not in the traditional sense, no. These are “dates,” however, and they can go well or they can go poorly.

Does the Traveler’s Gender Matter?

It does not! Some players were worried that MiHoYo might change or lock certain Hangout Events based on which Traveler you selected at the start, but this has thankfully been debunked. The stories will play out the exact same way regardless of which Traveler you’re playing as.

How Do I Get Story Keys?

After reaching Adventure Rank 26, you’ll gain access to story keys. At that point you’ll earn one story key for every eight daily commissions you complete. That means you can, at most, earn one key every two days. Just make sure to claim them from your commissions tab and keep in mind that you can only hold three keys at once.

These items allow you to unlock one story quest assuming you meet the appropriate Adventure Rank requirements. As we mentioned before, these story quests are exclusive to 5-Star characters. Hangout Events are a new way to use story keys, though they’ll require two keys to unlock.
