Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 is heading towards its end, and although there is no shortage of activities to access, developer Epic Games has released an interesting feature. The Fortnite Shared Wallet allows you to access your V-Bucks across different platforms. This guide explains how this works, as well as the exceptions and what to keep in mind.
If you’re in need of more help, we have guides covering all Chapter 3 Season 2 weekly quests, Omni Chips to upgrade your Omni Sword, how to unlock Prowler, Star Wars quests that include Lightsabers and E11 Blaster Rifles, and objectives such as refuel a repair torch at a gas pump and use the sensor backpack to find an energy fluctuation.
Fortnite Shared Wallet Explained – How to Share V-Bucks Across Platforms
Starting with the v20.40 update, which went live on May 17, 2022, any V-Bucks purchased on PlayStation can be used across platforms that support Fortnite Shared Wallet.
The platforms that support Shared Wallet in Fortnite are the following:
- PlayStation
- Xbox
- PC
- Android
- Cloud gaming services
At the time being, you can’t access the feature on Switch, so keep this in mind before making any purchases in case you were planning on using V-Bucks across more platforms than just Nintendo’s console.
How to Link Your Epic Games Account to Consoles to Use Shared Wallet in Fortnite
First things first, you need to link your PlayStation or Xbox console to your Epic Games account. You can either do this online or via the console itself.
To link your Epic Games account using the web, the steps are as follows:
- Head over to the Epic Games site
- Sign in with your account
- Hover over your display name and select Account
- Select Connections — Accounts
- Select Connect for the account you want to link to your Epic account
- Select Link Account
- In the pop-up window, sign in with your console account details and confirm the process
- Click continue to finish
To link your Epic Games account via your console, the steps are as follows:
- Launch Fortnite on your console of choice
- Select Link an Account (if this is your first time doing so)
- Enter the code on this site using either your phone or computer
- Click continue and sign in with your Epic Games account
- After you get the confirmation message, you’ll be all set
Keep in mind that if you purchased V-Bucks through the Microsoft or PlayStation store, you have to log into Fortnite on the corresponding platform to receive them before accessing them across all other Shared Wallet platforms.
I Can’t Access All my V-Bucks Across All Platforms in Fortnite
As a reminder, you won’t be able to see purchased V-Bucks on Switch, as the console does not support the Shared Wallet feature. That being said, all V-Bucks you’ve earned through in-game challenges or the Battle Pass are eligible, as well as all your Outfits and other cosmetic items. They will always appear regardless of the platform — the only thing affected are purchased V-Bucks.
As an example, if you purchase 1,000 V-Bucks on PC, you can access them on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Android, and cloud gaming services as long as your Epic Games account is linked properly. Have fun and spend responsibly!
