Every Fish Leaving or Joining Animal Crossing: New Horizons in May

FROGS!!!!!!!!

Hey everybody, this is normally where I try and come up with some kind of cute and/or clever introduction for this here Animal Crossing: New Horizons fish guide, but tonight is gonna be a little different. You see, in creating the below tables showing which fish are coming and going this Friday, May 1, I learned that frogs are coming to Northern hemisphere islands in Animal Crossing. Now, frogs aren’t fish, I think we can all agree on this. But like turtles, they are aquatic amphibians and that’s close enough for Nintendo apparently, but I’m not about to look a gift toad in the mouth.

There’s probably other important stuff I could talk about here, like how islands in the Northern hemisphere will lose and gain different fish than those in the Southern hemisphere, but all of my available brain power is currently used up by frogs. Sorry! You’ll have to get that information somewhere else I guess. I’d love to explain to y’all that fish shadows range in size from “Extra Small” to “XXXXL,” for a total of eight sizes in all, but there’s just no time! I have to rearrange everything in my house to make room for the hundreds of hundreds of frogs I will soon save from my island’s ponds. This ecosystem isn’t sophisticated enough to support the kind of delicate ecology that frogs and toads depend on to thrive, so it’s going to be up to me to rescue and provide for each and every one of them.

Sadly, islands in the Southern hemisphere won’t be able to rescue their own frogs until November, but there’s still plenty going on for our southern neighbors come Friday. Remember that fish availability flips over with your island’s clock, and not at the daily reset when most other things change for the day. Here’s what’s coming up!
