How to Unlock Void Grenades For All Classes

If you’re wondering how to unlock the Destiny 2 Witch Queen void grenades, the steps are as follows:

  • Talk to Ikora Rey at the Tower (not on Mars!)
  • Click the Void menu under Grow Your Light
  • Open the grenade tab on the far right under Abilities
  • Buy each grenade for 3,000 Glimmer
  • Meditate (this can be done right next to her by interacting with the device on the table)
  • After a quick sequence, all grenades are automatically unlocked

It’s a straightforward enough process, especially if you’ve been hoarding Glimmer. Moreover, this process unlocks all the grenades from other classes. So for example, if you’re using your Warlock, you’re also getting both the Hunter and Titan grenades by doing this.

Curious about which Destiny 2 Witch Queen void grenades are available at the moment? Then you can find the full list below:

  • Void Spike: A grenade that attaches to any surface and emits a torrent of damaging Void Light
  • Void Wall: A Grenade that creates a horizontal wall of burning Void Light
  • Suppressor Grenade: An explosive grenade that suppresses, preventing targets from using abilities for a short time.
  • Vortex Grenade: A grenade that creates a Vortex that pulls targets inward and continually damages those trapped inside
  • Scatter Grenade: A grenade that splits into many submunitions and covers a large area with multiple explosions
  • Magnetic Grenade: A grenade that attaches to targets and explodes twice
  • Axion Bolt: A bolt of Void Light that forks on impact into smaller bolts that seek out targets

Depending on your class, you may have some of these grenades unlocked from the get-go. As a Warlock, I had Vortex Grenade, Scatter Grenade, and Axion Bolt available right away. But as I mentioned, purchasing the rest for 3,000 Glimmer is rather inexpensive, so you should do this as soon as possible.

Once you’ve gotten all your Destiny 2 Witch Queen void grenades, the fun begins. The Void 3.0 rework has several Aspects and Fragments that intertwine with void grenades directly, enhancing their capabilities even further.

In terms of aspects, you can use Feed the Void to trigger Devour. With this, final blows restore you to full heath, extend Devour, and grant grenade energy. A personal favorite is Chaos Accelerant, which allows you to overcharge your grenade by holding the grenade button.

Chaos Accelerant has different effects depending on your grenade of choice:

  • Vortex Grenade: Increases the size and linger duration of the vortex
  • Axion Bolt: Creates an additional seeker
  • Scatter Grenade: Has submunitions track to nearby targets
  • Magnetic Grenade: Releases a short range Void blast

As for Fragments, I recommend Echo of Exchange (melee final blows grant grenade energy), Echo of Remnants (lingering grenade effects have increased duration), and Echo of Instability (defeating targets with grenades grants Volatile Rounds to your Void weapons). Whichever you choose, hope you have fun experimenting with the available options!
