In doing my research for this Destiny 2 guide, there’s one thing that many of the most popular Titan builds have right now: overshields. Regardless of which way you take your Season of Arrivals Titan build, chances are you’re going to want a build that focuses on staying very much alive despite your up close and personal antics. We’re going to depart a bit from our usual formula and recommend two separate builds. The first is a bit easier to run if you don’t have a bunch of armor mods from Season of Dawn.
For any kind of build making, I highly recommend using a third-party app, like Destiny Item Manager. Destiny still doesn’t have custom loadout slots. Nor can you filter items in your Vault according to category, element, ammo type, etc. No one Titan build is ever best for every situation! So saving loadouts will save you a ton of hassle down the line. Anyway, with that said, let’s get to it!
Destiny 2 Titan Severance Enclosure Build
All the credit for this top tree Sunbreaker build goes to BourneSloth on Reddit. You can use melee and shoulder charges to kills adds. With this, finishers will generate an overshield and keep you alive. When it comes to bosses, just fire off Witherhoard, shoulder charge into them for the debuff, and use your sword until they fall.
Armor Loadout
Here’s the armor set you’ll want to be running. Outside of a the exotic and Void gauntlets, you want to focus on Arc types. The below mods are heavily recommended though some like Stacks on Stacks and Empowered Finish simply function as a “win more” button for the build.
- Arc Helmet with Lucent Blade (Season of Arrival Mod)
- Void Gauntlets with Stacks on Stacks (Season of Dawn Mod)
- Severance Enclosure Exotic Chest with Inferno Whip (Season of Arrival Artifact Mod)
- Arc Legs with Font of Arrival (Season of Arrival Mod)
- Arc Class Item with Empowered Finish (Season of Dawn Mod) and Solar Plexus (Season of Arrival Artifact Mod)
With the rest of your mod slots you should focus on Sword mods like Sword Ammo Finder, Sword Scavenger, etc.
Weapon Loadout
On the weapon front, BourneSloth recommends using Witherhoard with either of the new heavy Swords. Keep grinding until you get one with Vorpal weapon which boosts the blade’s damage against bosses. You’re free to choose whatever energy weapon you want though there’s a really good Sidearm combination with Surprise Attack which we talk about in our Warlock build guide.
Destiny 2 Shotgun Build
This other top tree Sentinel Titan build comes to us from ChrisPbacon808 who has put together a package that requires a few more mods from seasons past. The entire thing centers around being right in the face of your enemies which is evidenced by the exotic selection and armor mods. Outside of the ones below, you also want to equip some shotgun mods to help on that front.
Chris explains how the build works in their video above, but the short version is this:
- Shotgun Kill
- Shotgun Kill
- Melee
- Melee
Armor Loadout
These are the armor types and mods Chris recommends. Most are required, unfortunately, which makes this build a bit harder to complete for those who didn’t grind during Season of Dawn. The only way to get these Dawn mods now is if Banshee-44 happens to sell them on any given day. So keep checking back with him!
- Arc Helmet with Heavy Handed (Season of Dawn Mod)
- Synthoceps Exotic Gauntlets with Enhanced Impact Induction
- Arc Chest with Taking Charge (Season of Dawn Mod)
- Arc Legs with Quick Charge (Season of Dawn Mod)
- Arc Class Item with Striking Light (Season of Dawn Mod), Special Finisher, and Hands-On
With the rest of your mod slots you should focus on Sword mods like Sword Ammo Finder, Sword Scavenger, etc.
Weapon Loadout
For weapons this build is relatively forgiving, the only absolutely necessary loadout option is a shotgun with One-Two Punch. Chris also opts for an Outbreak Perfected and Wendigo GL3, but those can honestly be flex slots.
If you run out of energy ammunition, just use a finisher and it will spawn Special ammo for your whole fireteam in exchange for one-third of your Super energy.
If you want more information on this build, we highly recommend watching the video above! It’s nearly 20 minutes long and goes a lot more in depth than we do here.
