Destiny 2 received many hand cannons recently, so it might be hard to choose a favorite. However, the reprised raid Crota’s End is now in Destiny 2, offering one of the most potent Void hand cannons called Word of Crota. This 180 rounds per minute Precision Frame weapon can deal some severe damage with the right combination of perks. So, what is the god roll?
How to Get Word of Crota in Destiny 2
To get Word of Crota, head into the Crota’s End raid. The hand cannon can drop from the third encounter, Ir Yut, the Deathsinger, and the final Crota encounter. Once you have unlocked Word of Crota in your Collections, any secret chests you open within the raid have a chance to drop the weapon. You can also craft Word of Crota, so either farm the raid for red-border weapons or utilize Deepsight Harmonizers to unlock at the Enclave. If you have spare Spoils of Conquest, you can also pick up a guaranteed red-border version from the Sword of Crota raid vendor at the end of the raid, which is limited to one per week.
Word of Crota God Rolls
Word of Crota PVE God Roll
- Arrowhead Brake
- Alloy Mag
- Dragonfly
- Sword Logic
This weapon is powerful with any of its available perks, but Sword Logic is the standout. Getting a final blow provides a damage buff that lasts for a short duration, and refreshes when you get another final blow. The enemy you defeat sets the level of damage and time, with bosses providing a massive 50% increase in damage. While that is already good, let’s add two types of explosion on top of that. The first comes from Dragonfly, which causes precision final blows to create a blast of elemental damage. The second comes from Cursed Thrall, the weapon’s origin trait, where getting a melee final blow causes all final blows to create explosions for a short duration. While the weapon is missing a reload perk, Alloy Mag should help get rounds back in your gun faster so you can keep dishing out damage.
The Repulser Brace and Destabilizing Rounds combo is also worth mentioning, which can lead to many Void explosions and overshields but may not be too viable in end-game content.
Word of Crota PVP God Roll
- Smallbore
- Accurized Rounds
- Killing Wind
- Sword Logic
Sword Logic behaves differently in PVP, giving a 25% damage buff for a kill against a player, and a 35% increase if you kill a Guardian in their Super. With either of these activated, Word of Crota becomes a mighty mid-range weapon, with Killing Wind boosting mobility and range. Since the weapon has a controllable recoil pattern, the main goal of the remaining perks is to increase range as much as possible, as this is the weakest part of 180 hand cannons in PVP.
