FFXIV Site Update Reveals New Mounts, Minions, and More Coming in 6.51 and 6.55

Content up to three months away from release has been revealed!

Final Fantasy XIV’s fanbase got a teaser of the content coming in patches 6.51 and 6.55 today after the special site for the 6.5 patch was updated. Featuring screenshots of new mounts, emotes, minions, and other content, the teasers have given fans an insight into what to expect in FFXIV for the next few months.

Final Fantasy XIV’s next two updates are going to add a plethora of new content. The 6.51 patch, which will release on Oct. 31, will feature the Fall Guys Collaboration, a new Crystalline Conflict Arena, a new Criterion and Variant Dungeon, and more Splendorous Tools Quests. Meanwhile, the 6.55 update will feature more Hildibrand Adventure quests, Manderville Weapon enhancements, and more.

Until today, details like what exactly the mounts and other rewards from this content would look like wasn’t known.

The new images included some screenshots of a pair of mounts likely from the upcoming Variant Dungeon, Aloalo Island. First, the fairy boss from the dungeon mount, which was first previewed during a Live Letter, received a more clear screenshot. Second, a fearsome-looking Mesoamerican-style wolf/lion mount.

Beyond this, there are closeups of the Fall Guys collaboration minions and gear, and a new emote and fashion accessory.

But perhaps the main attraction of these new screenshots were the details and closeups of the new Final Fantasy XIV x Final Fantasy XVI crossover event. High-resolution images of the Ifrit fight that will be part of that crossover have shown fans how impressive the FFXVI version of this Primal looks compared to its FFXIV version.

With Patch 6.51 coming out in October, and 6.55 scheduled for January 2024, these images give an insight into content for the next three months. However, this is just a fraction of the rewards we expect from the new content.
